Nonprofit Overview

Mission: Two decades ago Joyce Rumsfeld and a small group of concerned citizens founded the Chicago Foundation for Education (CFE) as an organization established to enrich the educational experiences of Chicago public elementary school students by supporting the educators who serve, guide, and teach them. Years later, CFE has evolved into a dynamic organization that remains steadfast in our commitment to increasing student achievement by investing in teachers to improve the quality of instruction for Chicago's public school students.

CFE is a great place to volunteer. Meaningful opportunities and a great staff. Thank you for providing ways for donors to be involved in your work with CPS teachers.
