Nonprofit Overview

Mission: Uniting public, private and community partners to ensure the safety, health and well-being of abused children.

Results: We have served more than 25,000 children since our doors opened in 2001.

Target demographics: children who have been sexually or physically abused

Geographic areas served: Chicago

Programs: ChicagoCAC is the city’s only not-for-profit organization that coordinates the efforts of child protection staff, law enforcement professionals, family advocates, medical experts and mental health clinicians under one roof. Our staff schedules a family’s visit to the center (including provision of support services such as transportation and child life), conducts forensic interviews and provides family advocacy and mental health services aimed at reducing trauma so that children and families may begin the healing process.

The Chicago Children's Advocacy Center is such an amazing organization because it minimizes trauma imposed on child sexual abuse victims. Kids who are sexually abused only have to tell their story once, and are treated in all aspects for free at the center (testing, therapy, etc.).
