Mission: The Goodwill Assistance Dog Academy strives to placed trained service dogs with disabled citizens who cannot afford the typically high cost of acquiring and maintaining an assistance dog.
Programs: The Goodwill Assistance Dog Academy works through a partnership of Chattanooga Goodwill Industries and the Mckamey Animal Care and Adoption Center. The Academy serves and an Assistance Dog Institute certified training program to provide comprehensive service animal training to rescued and donated dogs. The Academy, through our spokes dog, Will, also strives to promote community disability awareness education visiting with schools, corporations, and at various conferences and events. The Goodwill Assistance Dog Academy is led by an immediate director, the Goodwill Vice President of Mission Services, and a devoted advisory committee of 25 volunteers from various professional organizations.
