The Chatham County Partnership for Children is a group of individuals that works very diligently to improve the services that our children receive. I am very honored to be a part of this fine organization that puts children at the highest priority possible. Without this organization and their fine staff many of our children would not receive the services needed to be successful in the future.

Chatham County Partnership for Children as an agency is genuinely concerned about the children and their families in our community. The services provided are valued on mulitple levels. The Executive Director has her eyes and ears open to the needs in the local community. She is very sensitive to the current trends in in childcare and keeps community partners engaged and ready to respond to the needs of our children. The NAPPSAC Prorgam, a program designed for childcare centers promotes healthy eating habits and exercise, was funded in response to the childhood obesity in Chatham County. The advantage of the program is that operators and parents are taught intervention that can be rooted in the community.

The partnerhship is a crucial part of our community. It provides support to several organizations that enrich, and provide much needs supports to families. Smart Start and More at Four are just to name a few.

Our children are our future and thus so too must the Partnership be.

I am the director the KidSCope program, which has worked with the Chatham County Partnership for Children since 1996. We have partnered with them to implement a Child Care Mental Health Consultation program that has worked closely with local child care centers to help teachers deal more effectively with young children with challenging behaviors. CCPC, its staff and board have been very supportive of this program as well as other programs that KidSCope implements in Chatham County. They are always striving to help local agencies meet the needs of children, families, and child care providers. It is joy to work with them.

Executive Director, Genevieve Megginson, spoke to our Central carolina Community College undergraduate class about the importance of Early Childhood Education in the state of NC. The lecture was most informative and touched the hearts and minds of our future early childhood educators in NC. As a faculty member of CCCC we would like to thank Chatham County Partnership for Chidlren for their time and expertise in sharing important ideas and concepts to our students.

Partnership for Children is very active in the community. They often participate in local outreach events to get the word out about their various programs. I often partner with the organization on obesity prevention efforts to help kids become more active and eat healthier. Partnership for Children truly cares about our young children and reaches hundreds of these kids with their efforts.

The Chatham County Partnership for Children has been a great resource for myself and my colleagues. They have worked very closely with us by providing support for the children I work with and their families. They offer professional development workshops as well as individual support. They are an asset to the community and the families that live in Chatham County.

As a mother of 4, grandmother of 11, great-grandmother of 1, and family child care provider for Infants and Toddlers (B - 2) for 27 years, I KNOW what good work is done through the CCPC. As a board member I have learned so much about the vast knowledge and the scope of activities for improving the lives of young children that is funded and provided through the work of the Partnership. As Board Chair for three years, I learned even more about the involvement of our Partnership in all aspects of the lives of young children and their caregivers. It has been my pleasure to serve on this Board and be involved in improving the quality of care the young children of Chatham County need. Jenny Megginson is the most knowledgeable Executive Director I have ever know. She truly has her hands in every aspect of the work of the CCPC. I admire her and her staff for all they do.

Chatham County Partnership for Children is an amazing group of people who truly believe in the importance of Early Childhood education and care. Without this great organization, many children would be left without the resources and services that they need to succeed! Without successful children, there will be no successful adults! I am truly blessed to be able to connect with this organization to help the young children in Chatham County! :-)

I have been so pleased to be a part of such a dedicated group of people. All care deeply for the success of children and families. They are personally and professionally vested. The Partnership fills a role that no other group in our county could do. They truely form partnerships that work for the benefit of every person in Chatham County by helping the smallest of Chatham County. If it wasn't for the Partnership's guidance I would never have been able to establish a prek program at my local public school. This program is 5 star, has more at four slots and is the only one in one in the entire SW corner of the County.

As a mom in Pittsboro I have used the extensive knowledge of the staff at Partnership for Children to help me through the wonderful job of parenting. The staff are helpful, repectful, cheerful and take the time to help explain and go through paperwork if necessary. Their participation in the community is huge and can be seen at most gathering events where they know children will be. This organization is truely a jewel in Pittsboro's crown.

The Chatham Partnership works tirelessly with local and state agencies and government to provide high quality early education opportunities to children of this rural county. I have been an early educator and a parent in this community for over twenty years and have seen the vast improvement in child care , public school pre-k and teacher training since the Partnership has been active here. Kudos!

As a parent I know the value of high quality preschool for children, especially low income children who have fewer opportunities than middle class or walthy children. The Chatham County Partnership for Children administers the More at Four Program which helps low income children attenda a year of high quality preschool thus preparing them for kindergarten success. The organization also funds other programs that help families and children.

As a little girl, I attended a great preschool, called A Place to Grow. The Chatham County Partnership for Children helped this preschool improve its quality by providing trainings to the teachers, helping it improve its space and equipment, and connecting it with the NC Food Program. My friends and I had a great time playing, cooking, gardening, reading, and doing crafts.

I work with preschoolers with special needs in this county. We have had several children in common throughout the years. They have been outstanding in helping with any information needed, contacts with us colleagues in the community, and with parents of the children they serve. The staff is knowledgeable and professional, and ready to help whenever needed. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone I have ever come across in that building.
