I had lost my rescue quaker and reached out to Amanda at CBR just before the pandemic. I am in Michigan, but did not trust the rescues here to be in it for the birds. They were in for profit. I filled out the application, was approved, then covid shut everyone down. Amanda and I still kept in touch. I knew I wanted a quaker, but also felt birds found their person, so I was not in it for a specific one. My husband and I drove 3 hours to interview with her and meet the feathered babies that were ready for a new home. I meant three, Echo, she was a shy but sweet girl. Another( forgot name) that was very sweet and nervous, and then Pluto! He was all about Amanda, followed her every where. Amanda tried hiding to give us a chance to meet and bond, but Pluto kept calling for her. After about 2 hours, I told her I wanted to give Pluto a new home. I remember her face and she was like why! It was a voice of concern and intrigued. I explained, the other two will for sure be adopted based on them being sweet and loveable. I knew Pluto needed that special person to know that he was a bird that bonded and committed to that person. She was emotional, as I feel, it was she knew he would be extremely loved. Going on three years after adopting him, he is my life! Amanda is available for me and Pluto for any questions, I am also comfortable taking rescues to her that people have reached out to me for help when I am full. Their compassion and commitment to the birds are beyond having a heart! They know that wellness, diet, enrichment etc are part of these birds life and they ensure they are all first.

Charlie Brown Bird Rescue is super caring about the birds they save. Amanda puts so much of herself into the rescue, and is an amazing example of servant leadership.

Im currently in the process of adopting and also fostering a couple birds from them. I was amazed at how well kept, clean and healthy all the birds are considering the space and resources available. Amanda is very sweet thorough and all I can tell her heart and soul is into rescuing these sweet babies based on the how clean and organised she is, how much the birds love her and how much time she takes explaining and walking every eligible applicant through the adoption process and how knowledgeable she is! She has everyone’s best interest at heart! She answers all questions always reachable and follows up with any questions or concerns one might have regarding the birds at her care. As busy as she is caring for the rescued birds she still takes the time to carefully review the very thorough application process they have created. I’m looking forward to working with her and her team.

Charlie Brown does a great job of vetting potential adopters so you know their birds are going to safe, loving homes. As a fairly new bird owner, they taught me about my cage set up and ways to optimize it for my lovebirds and keep them from laying eggs. They helped match me with the right bird for my lil guy Oscar, too. Can’t say enough good things about them!

I traveled from Virginia to Ohio to adopt a parrot from Charlie Brown! The rescue replied promptly to my inquiry. The application process was clearly explained and thorough- I could tell they were trying to make sure birds are well matched to their new people and will be safe and happy. They communicated with me frequently about potential matches. When we arrived for our adoption appointment, I was impressed. There were a lot of birds at the rescue - and the cages were clean and it looked like the birds were being taken care of very well. The parrot next to our potential adoptee asked to come home with us too (literally reached her foot out of the cage and wanted to hold our hand ) so we discussed adopting two birds and that is what happened. They sold us an extra bird travel cage for a very reasonable price as we had come with only one. Our new girls have been home with us for four months and have settled in very well. There are so many parrots that need homes and Charlie Brown does excellent work taking in birds and rehoming them. If I ever decide to adopt another parrot I would happily make the 7 hour drive each way again to adopt from this rescue!

Amanda and the whole team at The Charlie Brown Rescue do fantastic work for each animal that comes through their doors. I have had the pleasure of adopting both of my conures from them. They do a thorough interview with you and a home tour before setting an appointment to come see the animals. Always helpful and responsive prior to and after adopting any bird. Truly admire their passion for the birds!

I am currently fostering to adopt a sweet feather baby from the Charlie Brown Bird Rescue. They have a great process for fostering to adopt. They also have a very clean and well maintained rescue. The birds are truly cared for and the director and team members are wonderful to work with. I highly recommend this rescue.

I had a very positive experience with Charlie Brown Bird Rescue Inc. They helped me with all my questions. I was afraid of being judged by a rescue and there was never any judgment, only complete understanding about my fears and questions. The adoption process was very smooth. And the part I love the most about this rescue is the 3 month foster to adopt program. They care so much for their birds that they don't just hand them out, take your money, and call it a day. They work with you during those 3 months until you either feel the bird/s is a good fit for you and your family and adopt it, or bring it back to the rescue. The birds I fostered unfortunately didn't work out for me. They don't like my toddlers and I was struggling to keep up with their care along with caring for my toddlers, my house, and myself. Again no judgment from the rescue, only understanding!
