We brought Lola into our home about 6 years ago, she's the best dog I've ever owned. We adopted from COHPBR Norco and could not be happier. We have 3 kids aged 13yo - 9 months and our killer dog loves them all. I tried contacting to donate but was not able to, if anyone has info please let me know.

We are asking help for Maggie who is in the facility at Washoe County, Reno NV. This weekend is her last. Her owner bacame ill and could not take care of Maggie. She was so attached to him and trusted him. She literally cried when she didn't see him. We have worked with local rescues trying to find a place but everybody is full. If anyone can help, please. She is a good dog.

Change Of Heart Pitbull Rescue does amazing things for Pitbulls! We need more rescues like this one. So many people are against Pit Bulls solely because of their breed, COHPBR is helping better the image of the Pit Bull.

Change Of Heart Pitbull Rescue are such caring and kind hearted people. The fact that this small group of individuals go out of their way to help the most bullied breed is so heart warming. They are a fantastic organization that needs all the support they can get to keep pitbulls out of the hands of cruel and ignorant people. Love you guys!!!!!

I found Change of Heart through petfinder.com while inquiring about Dog Fostering. Sarah of Change of Heart Pit Bull Rescue contacted me asap! I currently foster Annie, a dog Sarah rescued. She saved Annie's life twice! COHPBR couldn't be more honest, dedicated, loving and all around fantastic! What a blessing they are to these precious Pitties. I am so lucky to have found them, and to be involved with such a great rescue!!! God bless everyone at Change of Heart! They truly put the importance of the dogs health, safety and well being above all.

In early March 2012 I received a call from a friend regarding a pit bull chained up in someones yard who had been used as a bait dog for fighting. He was severely injured and was without food or water. To make a long story short, we rescued the dog, I wasn’t going to let him die. I had no idea what to do with him. I took him to the vet and paid for his treatment out of my pocket. I called every rescue I could think of and everyone told me that if I couldn’t foster the dog, they wouldn’t help me. I wasn’t sure if I could foster him at the time since I already had 3 dogs, but I was committed to keeping him at least until he had healed. Change Of Heart was the only rescue that stepped up to help me get a chip-in started to pay for the medical bills, they gave me food, a collar, flea meds, etc. Once I saw what they did for this pup, even knowing that we may not be able to foster him , it showed their true character. They care about the dogs. Plain and simple. We did decide to foster the dog after all and Change Of Heart has been there every step of the way for us. Anything we need, they are a phone call away. I can’t say that about any other rescue, and I called a lot! They deserve all the good karma headed their way, and then some!

What I love most about Sarah and Change of Heart Pit Bull Rescue is not only their love and caring of the dogs, but that they keep in touch after the adoption. Help and support is just a phone call away, helping the Pitties and their adoptive families get their "happily every after." I first contacted COHPBR to adopt, but after going through the process and seeing how much they are doing and how much they could use volunteers, I knew I wanted to help! I love knowing that I have helped this wonderful group and the pups they rescue. Thanks Sarah for bringing our sweet Pandora into our lives!

I wanted to adopt a pit bull as I know that there are many that need homes and I came across Change of Heart online. I contacted the organization and they had me fill out an application and told me everything I needed to know about what it takes to care for a puppy. They brought a few pups to our house and let us get to know them better. Fast forward almost 2 years later and we could not be happier with our new addition to the family. Change of Heart has been there every step of the way to ensure that we are prepared to give a great life to our pup. It has been an amazing experience and he is the sweetest most loving dog ever. The work of Change of Heart is so important because they are on the front line saving the lives of these amazing dogs and fighting for equality among breeds!

Hi everyone! I have known Sarah since started her rescue, actually that is how we met. I received an email from a mutual friend informing me that Sarah was starting a much needed Pitbull rescue in the Inland Empire and wanted to introduce her. Sarah started her rescue from the ground up and worked tirelessly and quickly getting her rescue to a non-profit status the right way. Sarah not only worked hard to save pit bulls but also has assisted our local mastiff rescues when we needed help! Sarah's kindness and compassion knows no boundaries. If she can help, she will and she does. Sarah runs a top notch rescue and carefully screens home to assure the dogs are in a "forever home" and that adopters can always count on support from her and her volunteers to ensure a transition that is as smooth as possible. Sarah not only saves and finds homes for PBT's, she is always finding ways to help educate the public on positive dog stewardship, spay and neuter, positive dog training and stopping the spread of misinformation against ALL breeds. If you are looking for a "pebble" as we like to call them, please consider adopting from Change of Heart Pitbull Rescue and I encourage you to read the story behind the name of her rescue. You will be glad you did and even if you don't adopt, please share her website to help inform all PBT dog parents for a great wealth of information and support!

I am an individual who goes to the shelters and photographs the dogs that need help, all breeds to network in hopes to help them out of the shelter, more than once wonderful Change of Heart Pit Bull Rescue stepped up to help ones I had photographed. One had severe pneumonia and Change of Heart Pit Bull Rescue rushed to get her the help she needed... she survived because Change Of Heart Pit Bull Rescue CARED.. another had so much going on with her, Change of Heart Pit Bull Rescue did the best that they could under her circumstances, she had the best last months of her life filled with love and she did not die alone and scared in a cold shelter, when it was her time she was held and loved and went peacefully thanks again to Change of Heart Pit Bull Rescue, they are amazing and help this misunderstood breed the pitbull, there are NO bad breeds just bad owners.. Thank you Change of Heart Pit Bull Rescue for doing what you do.. for caring and making a difference.

I'm writing to tell you how awesome Change of Heart Pit Bull Rescue is. As someone who has worked with and for non profits it's not easy to do fundraisers especially one that includes helping out animals who are known as "killers" and "viscious" dogs. Their dedication to these animals and making sure that they are properly trained and cared for far exceed your average shelter. The people that volunteer for COHEART do this only for the satisfaction that these beautiful animals go to good homes and are kept off the street. I wish I had 30 acres of land because I would donate it to COHEART so they could rescue every pit bull out there! I had the pleasure of helping host a fundraiser for COHEART earlier this year and I cannot wait until I get another chance to do so! Keep up the awesome work, guys!!

Love working with COHPBR! Rescuing dogs is not an easy job but rescuing and adopting out pit bulls is even harder and this organization does it over and over. They are very dedicated to rescuing these animals and giving them a second chance at life since 9/10 pit bulls are PTS at the shelters and throwen away by people. Rescuing is hard and sometimes very disappointing however Sarah does this job with grace and dignity that she passes down to her 4 legged friends.

I have never had such an awesome experience as I did with Change of Heart Pit Bull Rescue! Once we saw Max, at 8 weeks old, we knew he had to be part of our family. Believe it or not, we were looking for a goat at the time. Came home with this beautiful Shepherd Husky boy. They made 100% sure that we had the right environment to adopt him. Came to the house, met the other animals we have to make sure that he would be fine there. They even arranged to have him neutered and met me on the way to work to take him and took care of everything for us. Max is such a huge part of our family and I would highly recommend Change of Heart to anyone looking for a new member of their family. They love each and every animal as if it was theirs. They are truly amazing people who have the biggest heart and love for animals!

I got involved with COHPBR because I wanted to help my sister-in-law Sarah, she is the founder. COHPBR is like a family of volunteers. I can not say enough about our team of volunteers! I feel appreciated and I truely do feel like I am making a difference at COHPBR. When I started volunteering I never thought I would fall in love with the dogs and the people.
