Causes: Health, Health (General & Financing)
Mission: Provide a nonpartisan forum for civic education about individual and societal health care issues and to serve as a resource for building public participation in improving health care policy and practice.
Programs: The center for healthcare decision's programs center around exploring with the public complex issues about health care policy and practice. They conduct independent projects, as well those in partnership with other organizations. They identify individual and societal priorities related to the use of evidence in medical decisions; the fair allocation of finite health care resources; and coverage priorities when options exceed resources. The center for health care decisions communicates those views to health care and policy leaders, assists communities and states in implementing citizen engagement activities and provides an education exercise in priority-setting for health care and community leaders. For work in this arena, 125 people were served through discussion groups; 280 through presentations and more than 58,000 through electronic communications.
