Mission: The organization provides education, training and meal programs to hiv infected persons and their families in the boston area of massachusetts.
Programs: Research - the research program is designed to develop research instruments for the agency to collect and analyze data on the impact of the agency's services on haitians affected by hiv/aids. 55 participants and 12 t/v-radio talk shows.
case management - the case management program is designed to help coordinate services for those infected with hiv and assure that their needs are met. The program provides various services including assistance with gaining access to medical care and medications, referrals to legal professionals and assistance with transportation. Served 10 clients this year.
education - the education program is aimed to educate haitian volunteers who will then go out into the community and educate others about the hiv virus, diabetes, stroke and asthma. It's also aimed at disease prevention. In addition, educational programs are provided for nutrition and diabetes.
various programs: the peer support program is designed to give people who are affected with hiv support as well as to encourage acceptance of people with hiv in the community. The program allows those infected with hiv to meet with others who are infected with hiv in a group setting to offer each other support. The housing program assists hiv infected clients in finding safe and affordable housing that meets their physical as well as psychological needs.
