Career Gear Houston has been an absolute game-changer in my life. From the moment I walked through their doors, I was treated with dignity and respect. The Suit Up program provided me with professional attire that made me feel confident and prepared for my job interviews. The one-on-one coaching sessions helped me refine my resume, sharpen my interview skills, and boost my confidence.

The Gear Up program went beyond just helping me get a job — it equipped me with financial literacy skills that I now use to manage my budget and plan for the future. The staff is incredibly supportive and genuinely cares about each participant’s success. Their ongoing mentorship and follow-up gave me the motivation and tools I needed to stay on track and advance in my career.

Thanks to Career Gear Houston, I am now employed, financially stable, and on a clear path to success. I highly recommend their services to any man looking to transform his life and build a brighter future. This organization is truly making a difference in the community!

I had a bad experience at Career Gear in Sharpstown Mall on Bellaire, The male staff or owner is the only friendly face or patience person there. The two women seem to look down on you, or maybe it was just me. One of the ladies dressed me in clothes the were not a good look for a big man. When I made suggestions of looks that would not be so tight and confining. She ignored me and continued to dress me in a very tight shirt and uncomfortable pants. I'm a ex computer tech of 10 years, I think I have some idea of what business casual is even for the interview. I did get the job when I called back to get more work outfits , I got no answer I left a message twice ,no one called me back. I called the 3rd time spoke to someone ,who talked down to me and was very rude on the phone , she explained to me in a not so polite tone that I needed to find the business card I was given two months ago and follow the instructions on the back. Then cut me off and hung up the phone. I did have my employer email them to say I was hired ,but I never heard from Career Gear. Not every customer is a ex-offender or drug addict, some of us who need assistance have had medical issues or life down fall. This is no excuse to be rude or inpatient. Whether is charity or retail ,EVERYONE DESERVES EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Dear Friends, I have personally seen men come in job ready for an interview, but they do not have the job attire needed for their first scheduled and confirmed job interview. These men are sometimes down and out, needing a second chance. After their appointment with Career Gear Houston, these men leave feeling like a million bucks!! Their heads are lifted a little higher and their self confidence and self worth are back! These men leave wearing a nice business suit, dress shirt, tie, and belt, socks and shoes if we have them in their sizes and have received some from our donors. We believe that if you help out a man, he is able to help his entire family; wife and children. Thank you in advance for your consideration, as many times we operate on a shoe string budget! http://careergearhouston.org/

As a volunteer, I would like to encourage everyone to make a financial donation today to this great organization! Career Gear Houston operates each year on a shoe string budget. Getting friends to donate clothing is not the problem, and is truly appreciated. However, funds are needed each month to keep the doors open. Financial donations of any amount will help to pay for electricity, telephone, internet, and other misc monthly bills that come in. Thank you for sharing your holidays! Abundant Blessings! For additional information, please contact Chris Pfaff, Founder and President of Career Gear Houston, at 830-629-2297

Thanks again for your time and consideration!

Warmly,
Gloria Greene

After being somewhat unemployed for the last year, I volunteered at Career Gear Houston because their cause and care is so genuine and important to those of us wanting to claim our life back. Months after volunteering I needed their services so I went down to Texas Workforce, received a voucher and got an appointment and fitting within a day. Donna and Christine are angels sent from heaven and I wish them success and recognition for their assistance to all of us needing a hand up - never an handout. I highly recommend Career Gear Houston to any potential donor, person wanting to volunteer, or a potenial client of need. For me, they were a Godsend. Keep up the great work y'all do.
