Mission: Cantabile youth singers contributes to the community by teaching a world-class youth choral music education program that nurtures each singer's body, mind and heart as they collaborate to learn performance skills, develop self-esteem and confidence. We foster learning that develops audiences and performers for the future.
Programs: $397,104 tuition, retreat and summer camp revenue for fiscal 2016-2017we provide 42 weeks of music education and rehearsals that offer comprehensive music theory and performance training for students. We serve 310 children on a weekly basis in our los altos location and teach musicianship and vocal performance. We teach children starting at age 4 and continuing up to age 18. Cantabile is committed to providing the opportunity for children to explore their love of music and to participate in choral music education and performance from a very early age. Our choir programs start with our training division and offer kodaly and orff based musical exploration and education starting with pre-kindergarten aged children and progressing up through seniors in high school. This vision of teaching children through their entire school careers came from our founder signe boyer's observation that children's music education programs in schools were being cut drastically. Her passion for teaching music and her emphasis on the importance of choral singing as an act of learning to participate in something greater than oneself to create beauty and share it with the world drove her to start the choir. Today there are very few public school opportunities for children to be taught music in the classroom. Cantabile fills this niche and provides many participation opportunities for kids throughout their k-12 school experience. Our hands on approach to teaching children singing, music theory and musicianship helps them develop not only their voices but also their appreciation of performance, visual art, languages and travel. This inspires a lifetime of participation in the arts that benefits not only the child but also society because these children become adults that support the arts and foster a sense of community around art and performance.

I graduated from Cantabile last year after being a member of the choir for seven years. It really changed my life--I gained a lot of experience and skills in choral singing and made many great friends. Cantabile is not only a very high-quality children's choir that performs sophisticated repertoire, but it is also really fun to be a part of and to watch perform. I'm very glad I had the opportunity to participate in it!
