Camp Wyandot Inc

Programs: The organization provides six weekly sessions of overnight camp on our property located in the hocking hills in rockbridge, ohio called camp wyandot. In 2014, 477 youth were in attendance at our summer camp program of which 397 youth paid their own way and 80 youth attended on a subsidized program or received a campership. Founded in 1928, camp wyandot is a fun, educational, and nurturing place where all children ages 7-18 feel a sense of belonging. As evidenced by a returning camper rate of about 60%, which is higher than the national average. With a trained staff of 26, kids enjoy and benefit from a quality camp experience in a safe and supportive environment.

for the past five years camp wyandot, inc. Has offered a day camp for school age boys and girls at highbanks metro park in central ohio. In 2014, the camp was held for nine weeks and 398 campers attended, some of which were the same camper attending more than one session. We focus on building outdoor living skills and developing a great sense of self-reliance while working in a small group setting. Campers experience the joy of nature, try new things, and develop deep friendships.

school age youth are provided the opportunity to join wyandot explorer clubs organized and supported by camp wyandot, inc. These are neighborhood volunteer lead clubs that offer quality youth development experiences for school age girls and boys to develop through a program of progression. Wyandot explorer club members engage in activities that build competencies and develop a sense of respect for and service to their community. The program focuses on four explorer categories: community exploration, self-exploration, environmental and science exploration, and creative exploration. Youth receive recognition for their accomplishments.

we sponsor weekend camping for clubs, families, and alumni at camp wyandot. We rent the camp to youth groups and other organizations with a similar purpose.
