I have been working with this organization for some time. I am an Early Childhood Teacher and used the River on the Go Bus as a resource to teach my students about the River and appreciating the environment. I have enjoyed using the bus since its first existence. The staff are energetic and friendly with my students. The Bus is beautiful and perfect experience for children so young. Many of them have never seen a river up close especially living in the city. They helped the children to realize that rivers are in the city. We used the bus since doing our Trout in the Classroom Project. It has been a great experience and we eagerly await the official opening of the museum in its permanent space. Go BCM GO!

The BronxWorks Early Childhood Learning Center at 1130 Grand Concourse has collaborated with The Bronx Children’s Museum for the past four years. During this period, the museum has been instrumental in introducing a science project, “Little Friends of the River, in collaboration with Trout in the Classroom," to our four-year old children, whom under normal circumstances would not have had this experience.

The youngsters are provided with hands-on experience in raising trout from eggs to fry. Furthermore, the youngsters and their parents took a bus trip to Pound Ridge New York, where the trout are released into the Cross River. In 2012, Bronx News Channel 12 did a feature story on this effort. As a result of our success, another early learn center is now in its first year of implementing the "Trout in the Classroom" model. Other experiences provided by the museum included trips on the River on the Go bobile bus (an interactive diorama of the Bronx River) which came with educational materials and a series of customized projects that helped our children develop their imagination, improve fine motor skills, and acquire knowledge of science concepts. Way to go, Bronx Children’s Museum!

Recently, My school P.S. 11 was serviced by this organization. The guides are energetic dedicated people who empower children to become steward's of nature. Our children learned so much about their community and a real respect for the water, animals and plants in our area. I think the multi-sensory approach really brings to life the mysteries and wonders of the Bronx. I would certainly endorse this museum to other schools. R. Anderson

The Bronx Children's Museum is great! Their programs are engaging, informative, and appropriate for the children that they serve. They are refreshing to the Bronx community, where there is such a high need for quality children's programing. I am looking forward to the day they open their doors.

Very disappointing. Lots of plans, but nothing real. Direct makes over $100,000 and they do not do much of anything. They seem to be very politically connected is what it seems. Not for the Children which is why I volunteered in the first place.
