Mission: The boise bicycle project is a community based effort to promote the personal, social, and environmental benefits of cycling. It functions as a bicycle recycling center as well as an educational workspace.

Programs: The Boise Bicycle Project provides both affordable bicycles and parts to the community and free bicycles to underprivileged youth. During 2014, BBP donated 563 bicycles, sold 655 affordable and refurbished bicycles, provided 106 bicycles to adults as part of the easy rider program and recycled 730 bicycles.

the Boise Bicycle Project educates the community on bicycle safety and maintenance. We hold a bicycle commuter safety class available free to the community which had 142 participants during 2014. We also provide a safe and nurturing environment for members and the community to learn about their bicycle and bicycle maintenance. During 2014, we had 477 members, 1,130 walk-ins, and 58 work-trade arrangements utilize the shop space.

in 2014, the Boise Bicycle Project launched a bicycle mechanic apprenticeship program. This is an 8 week program taught by a ubi certified mechanic. With in class instruction as well as hands on training, a BBP apprenticeship will provide a well rounded education to become an entry level mechanic, as well as vocational skills that could be transferred to any job.
