Results: Based on our 2022 Child and Youth Surveys, 78% of youth served maintained or improved their academic performance/grades, 92% have depressive symptoms that improved or had not worsened, 88% maintained or improved their educational expectations, 88% maintained or improved their emotion regulation, 80% maintained or improved their school attendance, 73% maintained or improved their family connectedness, 83% maintained or improved their goal setting and pursuit skills, 82% maintained or improved their interests or sparks, 94% have risky behaviors that improved or had not worsened (bullying, personal conduct, school discipline, school misbehavior, status offenses, and juvenile justice contact, and substance abuse), 87% maintained or improved their school connectedness, and 88% maintained or improved their social competence
Target demographics: We serve local youth, ages 6 through 18. Our agency's reach stretches across four counties (Montgomery, Miami, Greene, and Preble). The children we serve predominantly reside in single-parent (70%), TANF eligible (82%), female-headed households, experience academic difficulties, low school attendance, lack social development skills, and exhibit problem behaviors either at school, at home, or within the community. Of the youth we serve, 43% are male, 57% are female, 41% are African American, 35% are White, 5% are Hispanic, and 19% are Multi-Racial or Other. 11% of the youth we serve have an incarcerated parent.
