Causes: Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Children & Youth
Mission: The mission of bbbs is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. They recruit, screen and train volunteers to become mentors to children who need a role model and a friend. Bbbs creates and supports "matches" between the volunteer (the "big") and the child (the "little") which often last a lifetime. Our emphasis is on low to no cost activities with a goal of having positive shared experiences.
Programs: Matching children in at-risk situations with quality adult mentors who provide consistent and ongoing friendship, role-modeling, support, encouragement, and focus to improve academic and socio-emotional outcomes for the child.
