Programs: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City is a mentoring organization that helps at-risk children by pairing them with caring adult volunteers. These pairings, or 'matches', are asked to spend 2-4 hours a week together for at least one year. In accordance with the landmark P/PV study, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City's mentoring program focuses on four key areas to ensure a successful match. They are: •Buy in of the client and of the parent •Professional supervision •Longevity •Developmental relationship Currently, more than 1500 children experience the benefits of having a Big Brother, Big Sister, or Big Couple each year.
