I adopted both of my dogs from the Berkshire Humane Society, and I can not say enough good things about the staff. The Reactive Rover class offered through the Family Dog School was perfect for my reactive, anxious dog. Haylie is an amazing instructor who knows her stuff, and helped in ways I never thought possible. She and the amazing kennel staff (Stacey, Becca, Jess, and Rachael, to name a few) helped with the transition when I adopted dog #2. They are encouraging, set realistic expectations, and help normalize bumps in the road. I recommend them to anyone interested in adopting a pet.

I have helped socialize cats at Purradise, the Humane Society's cat adoption agency, for over two years. We have found homes for over 370 cats during that time. It is a wonderful organization that helps animals and that is dependent on donations and hep from volunteers. About time someone concentrated on homeless cats! sometimes people have to move to housing where no pets are allowed, or a family member becomes allergic, or cats' owners die, or cats are found abandoned where people have moved out and left the feline household members behind, or even in the woods, where my two were found or making the best of a difficult existence in towns. These cats would not be here but for us; we owe them medical care and a home.
