I have been a volunteer with Because of Roscoe since it was formed in 2023. Being involved with this organization has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. The dedication and tireless effort put forth by the founder and entire team to help the community is inspiring!
I'd like to share a bit about of "SNIP" (Spay and Neuter Initiative Program). This is a program dedicated to community of Fairfield County, SC providing vouchers valued at $100, accepted any many veterinary clinics in the area as well as a FREE spay and neuter monthly Van Program. Community members can sign up their pets for this once monthly transport to a clinic in Columbia where their cats and dogs can get spay or neutered at no cost! Through the van program, community pet owners are also able to obtain low-cost vaccines. Recently free microchips are being sponsored as well!
Because of Roscoe is getting ready to launch a TNR Program (Trap Neuter Return) to begin addressing the feral cat population in the community and effectively reduce the number of strays.
This organization is a blessing to so many in this rural area of South Carolina that is overwhelmed with an overpopulation of animals. Funding for this program is 100% from donations and fundraising efforts. If you are an animal lover and looking to donate, this is an excellent non-profit to support! Every little bit helps.
