Mission: Avalon Housing's mission is to build healthy, safe and inclusive supportive housing communities as a long-term solution to homelessness. At Avalon, we help our community's most vulnerable citizens find housing. Then we provide essential supports to help them stay in their homes.
Results: For 25 years, Avalon has been the leading provider of supportive housing in Washtenaw County, Michigan. During the past 25 years, we've developed over 20 housing sites comprised of 265 apartments that provide enhanced property management and support services to single adults and families with children. We also provide support services to adults and families who live in non-Avalon properties, including public housing and units managed by private landlords. Thousands of people have achieved housing stability and seen their lives improve due to the supports provided by Avalon.
Target demographics: Individuals and families who struggle with chronic homelessness and physical and/or mental health challenges, including substance abuse.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 700 people, including 200 children.

Programs: Supportive housing - a combination of permanently affordable housing units and essential supports to help people move beyond homelessness.
