Causes: Education
Mission: Astar Education Institute addresses the need to overcome language and cultural barriers in our increasingly international society through education. Astar's various programs give our students the knowledge and skill necessary to reach their educational and professional goals.
Target demographics: immigrants, refugees, students, international students, job seekers, career services
Direct beneficiaries per year: 97 ESL students, 16 nursing students
Geographic areas served: Manassas, Virginia
Programs: Our mission is to provide English classes to people of multiple ethnicities, particularly those who are ineligible to receive such instruction from the public system. Also, we give English lessons to international students to prepare them for high schools, colleges, and universities in the states
cultural exchange program: organize overseas students coming to teh states for summer or winter camps; organize american students to china; arrange international students to attend us schools. Through the program, we promote mutual understanding.
In addition, we offer vocational training classes in Education and Healthcare, teaching students to become Patient Care Aides, Nursing Assistants, and English teachers! Our programs provide opportunities for students to learn skills for living!
