Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals
Mission: We are organized for prevention of cruelty to animals. We rescue, rehabilitate and find good homes for abandoned and abused animals. Our mission statement: our primary goal is to remove dogs in danger of being euthanized from shelter environments and foster them until permanent homes are found through our adoption programs. We believe in the spay and neuter of all animals, regardless of breed, in order to aid in the prevention of pet overpopulation. We provide our dogs with shelter, proper veterinary care and any required rehabilitation. Our dogs come to us from a variety of different sources such as rescues from our city and county shelters and strays and pets who are neglected or abandoned due to bad economic times. Who we are: animals rule placement foundation is a registered tax exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organization, tax id #13-4264510. We are a group of non paid volunteers who have come together to rescue and foster animals in need of adoption and find them permanen
Programs: We are very proud of our accomplishments in 2017. We rescued and adopted out a total of 106 animals: 92 dogs and 14 cats. All were spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Many of our dogs had expensive dental needs and/or special orthopedic surgeries in addition to the basics to make them ready for their forever homes. The breakdown of our total amount adopted in 2017 is as follows. We saved a total of 36 dogs on their last day from various city and county shelters. We took in 18 owner-surrendered dogs thus preventing them from entering the shelter system. These dogs were surrendered to us for various reasons, such as housing relocations, job layoffs, and straight up financial difficulties. Some of these families lost their homes and could not even afford basic vet care for their dogs. We took in 41 stray dogs as well as 2 dogs whose owners died. We took in 1 dog from newport beach animal control. We took in 11 dogs from washington boulevard animal hospital who were surrendered due to the owner unable to afford medical care and/or chose euthanasia as a solution. In addition to all of these activities, we were able to assist 12 low income/homeless families with pet food and veterinary assistance throughout 2017. We helped 2 families with spay/neuter of their personal pets thus helping to keep the pets in their current homes. In april 2017 we participated in the americas family pet expo at the orange county fairgrounds where we adopted out 8 dogs into new forever homes and raised $3,357 to help pay for our veterinary bills and specialty surgeries. In june 2017 we participated in the super pet adoption event at the irvine shelter where we adopted out 4 dogs into good forever homes. In october 2017 we participated in the manhattan beach fire department's hometown fair where we adopted 2 dogs into good forever homes and raised $2,536 to help pay for our veterinary bills. At each of these adoption events our volunteers interacted with the public and provided educational material on the importance of spay/neuter, yearly vaccines, and microchipping. We placed several 'special needs' animals this year that we are quite proud of. We adopted out 2 dogs who were completely blind and 1 dog who was completely deaf. We helped a pomeranian named "patty" to rid her breast cancer by having a mastectomy and a large abdominal tumor removed that required 4 hours of surgery. She made a 100% recovery and was adopted to her forever home in the san pedro area. We did bilateral hip surgery (fho) on a belgian shepherd tervuren named "sierra" who taught herself to walk again and found a forever home with a family in tustin. We did dentals with extractions on over 20 dogs this year costing us an average of $500 per dog for this procedure alone. We accomplished all of this while holding down jobs, marriages, and mortgages of our own. We are dedicated to the well being of our rescue dogs and we love each and every one who passes through our rescue on their way to forever homes. Please help us rescue even more dogs in 2018 and future years by donating to our cause. It's time to give back and help make a difference in the lives of homeless pets. Don't buy, don't breed, adopt! Thank you, animals rule rescue officers, directors and volunteers
