Mission: The Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (ALSA) was founded in 1985. The mission of ALSA is to find a cause and cure for ALS (commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease) and to improve the quality of life for those living with the disease.
ALSA's nationwide affiliate network is comprised of both chapters and free standing support groups carrying out the mission of ALSA on a local level and assisting with ALSA's strategic goals for patient services, community services, public awareness, advocacy and research efforts.
