Causes: Health, Specifically Named Diseases Research
Mission: To provide long-term support to 1) basic and clinical research programs leading to a cure, 2) clinical centers of excellence for the care and treatment of patients with als, 3) support programs for patients and care-givers that optimize care and promote independence of the patient, and 4) programs that promote patient and physician education about the diagnosis, treatment and caring for the patient with als. The als hope foundation is working to:- establish a team of talented and imaginative scientists who will work cooperatively to accelerate als research. - provide these researchers with stable funding to ensure that als research continues uninterrupted- provide funding for innovative, ground-breaking research across the country where traditional funding sources are not forthcoming.

Programs: The ALS Hope Foundation continues to support the MDA/ALS Center of Hope at Temple University Hospital. The multidisciplinary clinic serves 100-125 people living with ALS at any given time, and is actively involved in clinical research to better understand the disease, improve patient care, and test promising therapeutics aimed at slowing or stopping the progressive neurodegeneration. Our support provides salary support for the staff of this multidisciplinary clinic. In addition, the ALS Hope Foundation supports the Northeast ALS Consortium to design and coordinate new trials of potential therapeutics for ALS. The research supported by the ALS Hope Foundation benefits more than 30,000 people in the US, and 300,000 people worldwide, at this time who are living with ALS.
