Mission: To advance knowledge of and appreciation for classical music. To build and sustain culturally vibrant local and global communities around this art form. To reflect the spirit of the pacific northwest and to foster integrity, quality, and innovation in all that we do.
Programs: Programming and production:all classical is a rare non-commercial, not-for-profit, independent, pure classical music formatted radio station originating from kqac 89. 9 in portland or with repeater stations broadcasting from the columbia gorge to the oregon coast, and streaming worldwide at www. Allclassical. Org 24 hours a day. All classical broadcasts nationally and locally produced classical music programming to approximately 175,000 listeners per week. Acquired rights and broadcast live the metroarts inc. 2015 young artists' concerto concert. Acquired rights and produced four recent oregon symphony concerts. All classical's weekly film music program "the score" has been successfully distributed to over 50 stations around the country for six years; the score has produced over 350 episodes. Created new program "thursdays @ three," a live concert broadcast from all classical's studios with live studio audience, furthering our mission to build cultural community.
marketing and community engagement:all classical engages 175,000 weekly listeners and 215,000 unique web visitors (listening on-line spikes at 2,000 concurrent users each weekday) with up-to-the-minute information on current programming, program highlights, educational information, a cultural events calendar and information on key cultural partnership events sponsored by the station. All classical also engages over 8,000 younger stakeholders each week via social media (facebook & twitter). All classical portland's website continues to offer archived programs on-demand for listeners to access in addition to the scheduled on-air broadcast. All classical portland maintains an active volunteer and intern program, furthering the organization's engagement with the community and providing training in broadcast skills. Over 250 volunteers attend community events on behalf of all classical portland. In our first year as rose festival sponsors, 445,000 attendees watched our on-air team ride by in vintage automobiles during the grand floral parade. Prior to the parade, staff handed out informational postcards and temporary tattoos to the crowd. Thisevent is part of our long term strategy to spread the word about the station to a broader, local audience.
