Results: Expand Community outreach programs: • Continued to expand outreach programs to provide all Alexandria City students with the opportunity to participate in youth soccer programs. • Increased participation of children receiving free/reduced lunch by 10%. • Formalized scholarship process to streamline enrollment and better track participation. • Began development of new programs to better serve low income youth in Alexandria City. • Worked with City gang prevention staff to host SFL U-19 girls team at T.C. Williams Increased Enrollment and enhanced programs: • 520 players enrolled in travel soccer, ages U9-U19, an increase of 30% over prior year. • 2,150 players enrolled in recreational soccer in 2012, ages 5-19. • 250 families participated in Tots programs for ages 2-4. • Continued to expand recreational development programs such as Skills Program (ages 5-6), Challenge Soccer (ages 7-8), and Player Development Program (ages 9-13) • Launched summer and winter training programs and goalie training that reached more than 500 students. • Hosted speed and agility programs. • Partnered with Children’s National Medical Center to offer baseline concussion testing Improve Coaching: • Age-appropriate educational curriculums were developed and provided to all 250 volunteer recreation coaches. • 75 volunteer recreation coaches attended voluntary curriculum training. • Refocused program goals to emphasize skill building and character development. Upgrade equipment and facilities: • Invested in new and upgraded equipment and goals Strengthen and professionalize the Association: • Strengthened board committee structure and increased participation. • Added two new front office staff positions • Expanded annual budget 400% to $1 million in less than two years. • Launched web tools including web site and player database. • New Fundraising Committee hosted first annual sold out boat cruise!
