Mission: Obtain optimal health & well-being for all children in alabama, and to provide educational and practice support for its membership so the highest quality of medical care can be achieved.
Programs: Meetings and conferences conducted to provide pediatric physicians in the the state of alabama with tools and education to assist them with providing quality patient care and services. Two meetings were conducted across the state during this fiscal year with approximately 100 participants per meeting.
reach out and read - program designed to prepare children to succeed in school by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together. Approximately 150,000 children were served in the state of alabama for the fiscal year through 300 medical providers.
project launch - program designed to promote the wellness of young children ages birth to 8 by addressing the physical, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral aspects of their development. The long-term goal of project launch is to ensure that all children enter school ready to learn and able to succeed.
