Tina is familiar with many types if animals. She has been an angel for at 10 years for the animals. She dedicates 110% to this place. She goes above and beyond to help animals she goes out of her way to assist to get one on the side of the road that may be ill or in danger. She jumps through hoops for these animals! This rescue is the best. She deals with dogs and cats, sheep and goats, Llamas and emus.. and then the other little wild animals such as raccoons and possums. Somehow this girl manages to keep everybody medicated and fed 100% off of donations. GOD BLESS HAPPY TAILS AND TINA!!
Review from Guidestar
Happy Tails is located in a rural area with limited rescue agencies and resources to help animals. Tina not only helps dogs but other animals from cats to pigs to whatever needs her help! She is a one-person operation and does an amazing job by herself but can always use financial and manpower support!
Happy Tails is run by a Love for all animals. Rescueing them is the heart and passion of Tina Hamlton. Trust that these animals are cared for and loved no matter what.
great organization ..rescues unwanted unloved pets..I helped to get some pets adopted by passing on information to my friends. Tina Hamilton works very hard to provide and care for strays and dogs and other animals needing love and care!
Happy Tails and it’s owner Tina do such a huge service for the Maybank area! She loves each and every animal that she encounters! Great Place full of love and Happy Tails just waiting to be adopted!
Tina Hamilton is a champion of the lost, neglected, frightened, and abandoned!
About two years ago I became aware through a Facebook post that Tina was trying to save the life of an extremely frightened lab mix dog named Jennie in a Texas Animal Control facility. Jennie was so scared she could only hug the floor trembling and hide under anything she could find. Tina was begging for someone - anyone - to please help her get the dog out of Animal Control. Jenny was scheduled to be put down and Tina was many miles and hours away. Tina's pleas for Jennie's life caught my heart.
I drove to Animal Control and met Jennie who hid shaking and frightened as far from me as she could get. Upon relaying what information I could discover about the dog, Tina never hesitated. She wanted Jennie safe with her. Tina was adamant that the dog not be killed.
The rest has a fairy tale ending. With the help of some good people in the Rescue community, Jennie was released, spent a night in boarding, and caught transport to Adopt a Happy Tail. From there Jennie found an incredible home with loving people and other fur friends. That scared-to-death little girl is now named Bonnie and living a life all animals deserve and should have.
Tina's rescue stories do not end with Bonnie. I often see Facebook posts where Tina is out saving dogs who have been dumped or are lost in rural areas and parking lots and are unwanted, starving and hurt. Every animal Tina saves has an opportunity to find love and happiness just as Jennie did. Adopt a Happy Tail is a haven for many of the abandoned fur kids including horses and goats. I cannot speak highly enough of the integrity of Adopt A Happy Tail. The Gun Barrel City / Athens, Texas people should be so proud and appreciative to have such a selfless Rescue in their area.
Happy Tails is one of the most respectful and well organized rescues I ever worked with! I would put my fingers in the fire for Tina Hamilton and her animals. She is a founder with all what she has and is giving her animals all the care they must receive to stay or become healthy and adoptable. 5 sterns!!! For me the best rescue at Texas!!
Kind regards from Germany,

It has been a pleasure in the workings with Happy Tails, a non-profit organization for the rescue and care of all animals who have been lost, stranded or given up due to economic or living conditions to release their pets to this rescue organization operated by Tina Hamilton. The world is better off with the love and care this lady has given. She takes such good care of her animals she goes above An beyond animal care for these babies. She has a passion for saving the lives of every single souls she touches
I was told that a small donation I made helped kick off the organization many years ago. I had no idea that I made that big of an impact. My mother loves animals and I guess in just rubbed off on me. I wantched Tina poor her everything into this place and by her doing that she’s been able to put smiles on people’s faces and make families whole again. I think most of the animals adopt the people. Either way it’s a win win situation with lots of love. Not all member of your family have to be new and expensive they just need to show love, loyalty, and share a smile. Theses animals have so much life left in them and they can bring that same amount of life out of us. Give the chance. You’ll be suprised who the winners really are!
This is an excellent rescue with a very dedicated owner, Tina Hamilton. She has dogs, goats, pigs, horses, etc. She will get up in the middle of the night if she gets a call, without hesitation. She takes great care of the animals, making sure they have vet care and are spayed and neutered. She often posts pics of the animals on her FB.
I have had the pleasure of being involved with Adopt a Happy Tails for a few years now. Not many non profits actually use 100% of all monies donated to their organizations. But every single dollar donated goes to the care and rescue of these animals. Tina dedicates her life to rescuing unwanted, neglected and abused animals.
Where do I begin about Tina Hamilton with Happy Tails? First, you would think there is way more than only one of her. She works tirelessly for many animals in our community and the human owners that either can't afford or cant physically leave their residences to get pet food. She is constantly working to get the animals adopted thru her rescue by social media, visits and many other ways. This is truly a "calling" for Tina. Otherwise I do not see how she would do it. She gets animals dropped off at her location all the time or people are calling her to rescue a puppy that has been abused or left on a highway. She even helps the homeless couple that has two dogs when she can. (unfortunately they kinda take advantage of it so we have all had to stop) Tina w Happy Tails truly makes a difference to every life she comes in contact, furry or human. For that she deserves to be commended. Thank you Tina. The animals thank you too.
