It an honor to report the ongoing hard work that Principal Mark Casavantes with optimism is continuing to strive for opening an Academic Opportunity Academy (AOA) school. I most strongly recommend Academic Opportunities Academy. I have been a student with Academic Opportunities Academy for several years. AOA have helped me graduate from El Paso Community College. They have helped me with mathematics and job skills necessary to be successful. I most highly recommend Academic Opportunities Academy.
Everyone sees the hard work that Principal Mark Casavantes, has done by dedicating his time to teach, and tutor everyone who wants to succeed in obtaining a better education by completing their G.E.D., ASVAB, pass their classes at El Paso Community College and help his students prepare for a better job. Academic Opportunities Academy offers very reasonable rates for their services.
Principal Mark Casavantes, spends six days per week at his small school. Every week Mark starts from 9:00a.m. to noon and 2:00 p.m. to 7:30p.m. Monday to Friday, including Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon. He helps students from 1st grade to adults.
Mark awaits with enthusiasm for students by greeting students with a warm welcome and students anxious to start working on the computer with educational programs. Principal Mark Casavantes School is equipped with few computers and most of necessary items needed for students. Most of this items he provides for them.

Principal Mark Casavantes has a 501(c)3 non profit corporation. He has been working toward opening his charter schools since March 19, 2010. He has been working on opening a charter schools in both El Paso, Texas and Deming, New Mexico with many innovative and creative ideas to help students succeed. He meets with the New Mexico Public Education Department - Charter School Division, the New Mexico Public Education Commissioners, the Texas Education Agency, and others once or twice per month in his efforts to open his charter school. Some of his innovative ideas include a Curriculum Mapping Database and Software which will guide instruction and inform all stakeholders about the progress of the school, parents and students will obtain real time reports, staff will know which students are in the most need of assistance. Grades will be an A (90% or greater) or an I (In progress). Mark has developed new and unique metrics for measuring student success such as "Knowledge per Second" and "Knowledge Retention" to improve the practice of teaching and learning. The charter school will be a blended learning environment with an extended day program. The extended day will be used to catch up students who are behind or enrich students with computer programming instruction. Mark believes that every student should graduate from high school capable of earning a living not only for themselves but their families with a self sustaining income. A self sustaining income has been defined by some states as two times the federal poverty rate.
