This is a horrible company that likes to sue those who adopt and foster for them. Donate your money to a better organization. Look at the articles on Reddit and Yelp. I have volunteered with them and fostered and there is truth in the articles.

I've been following 2 blondes for about 10 years on Facebook. I've always had rescue dogs and the last of mine died at age 13 last year. No where on the site does it say must live in Denver to adopt. It only says no out of state adoptions. After we applied and submitted photos of our own home and yard we were denied to to living outside of Denver. With so many dogs constantly on their site I thought this was Ludacris. Now I see we aren't the only ones. It does seem like they don't care about placing dogs.

The requirements to adopt a dog through this organization are completely over the top and ridiculous. I completed an application and met all the "requirements" and they still judged whatever answers I gave them and I finally moved on after reading other reviews. I really wanted to rescue a dog as I have rescued my former dog and cats but this place makes it so difficult. After reading other reviews I'm so glad we ended up not going through with them. We ended up getting a puppy through a reputable breeder which was a much easier and less judgmental process.

I don’t think this “rescue” cares about getting these dogs into homes, at all. All of the reviews you have read about this place are true. The adoption requirements are absolutely ridiculous - I understand that vetting adopters is needed to a certain degree but I don’t see how any normal person would be able to adopt from this place. When inquiring about a dog that seemed to be a perfect fit for my family, I was immediately asked if I owned my home or rented. Are these people aware how impossible it is to buy a home right now? Despite living in a large rental with a fenced yard, BLOCKS from one of Denver’s largest parks, I was ghosted by Kelley and instead a large disclaimer “HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED” was placed on the posting for the dog. At other rescues, they typically will provide guidance on what dogs they think would be appropriate for you if the one you were interested in is not a good fit. I get the heebie jeebies from this organization, owner Kelley Lombardo, and her responses to negative reviews. Steer clear and support a rescue that actually makes getting their dogs into forever homes a priority.

Unfortunately, there is no zero-star rating. To all my friends who are frustrated with this company because you cannot finish an adoption process, CONSIDER YOURSELVES TO BE VERY LUCKY!!! Do no business with this company because they will find a reason to sue you, and more than likely they will win.
Please, you are better off these people and their contracts. Such documents are one-sided and only benefit them, not the pets and much less you.
They will present you things like They can come to visit your home to see the pets, you are a co-owner/secondary owner...etc. There are so many REAL organizations where you can find lovely pets, please do yourself and your beloved ones a favor, go somewhere else.

If you are considering adopting or fostering I would highly recommend 2 Blondes All Breeds Rescue. I have had a wonderful experience fostering through this rescue and get to see behind the scenes. They truly care, are attentive, respond quickly to all questions and concerns and are quick to help and give advice!

I was cautious about working with this company due to all the bad reviews I read but they had so many cute dogs that needed homes that I thought I would give them a shot anyway. I was wrong, they really are that bad. The vet that we used to take our current dog to would not release his records so we spoke to our current vet and was able to get him in that same week to be able to get new records showing his up to date vaccination status. They rejected us because “they didn’t feel comfortable” that he was ever unvaccinated. He was always fully vaccinated and we rushed out that week to get the records caught up but were still denied a dog simply because a former vet would not release his records. Highly recommend going elsewhere. The 3 other rescues that we were looking at gladly accepted his new records and trusted us when we explained the situation.

Believe the reviews. These people, the founder in particular, are the worst. Check out the responses on Yelp if you have any question about the garbage humans running this unprofessional operation. My family was approved to adopt from them but stopped short of signing their absolutely laughable contract. Notice you will not find a negative review from anyone who has gone through with the contract, because they will be sued. What is 2BABR afraid of people saying, exactly? The truth? Please, PLEASE run the opposite way and find a DESERVING rescue to donate to and adopt from. If you are looking to foster, look elsewhere. There are plenty of stories about verbal abuse to those who foster for them. Stop letting them get away with their disgusting, demeaning, bullying practices. Word of mouth is powerful!!

I really wish I would have read all these horrible reviews before even attempting to adopt a dog from this "rescue".
These two blondes clearly have no actual interest in pairing these poor dogs in need with responsibe owners. What they do seem to be interested in is being extremely condescending and holier-than-thou. Apparently they are the only two responsible dog owners in the world - who knew?!

I've owned dogs for 15 years and am a fully grown 41 year old man. I own a big beautiful home in a gorgeous development with a huge backyard full of grass for dogs to run around. I also live 5 minutes from a dog park and go there daily.
I have a proper job, children, money to pay the bills and money leftover to dote on my animals.
I absolutely adore dogs, they are second only to my son. Two of mine recently passed very close together and it ripped my heart out of my body. It has taken me half a year to even consider getting more.

So lucky me that the first "rescue" I should attempt to work with is run by two horrible people who had the gall to tell me that I shouldn't own dogs because my five foot fence is too short and I don't have a proper "containment plan". They had the audacity to tell me that I should never have owned dogs in the past without having a proper trainer coming to my home and setting up said plan - tell that to my corgi Kemba and malamute Coda who spent 11 beautiful years here with me and would never have even thought of jumping the fence because they were too busy having the best life of all dog time.

I do not understand people like this, especially encountering them in a field that should be filled with love and compassion. These two people clearly went into the wrong line of work, and it breaks my heart that it is the poor, unfortunate animals in their custody that will suffer the most.

Luckily I quickly found a much better company in Trevor's Animal Rescue, and I would encourage anyone reading this to look their direction. They're compassionate, kind and wholly willing to go the extra mile to find the right dog for you and your family.
Shame on 2 Blondes, but thankfully there are plenty of other good people in the world that we can all just ignore them completely until the end of time.
Hopefully they'll go bust sooner than later and those poor dogs will go to companies actually working to ensure they find their forever homes.

Agree with many posts here. We have raised and cared for 7 total dogs over the course of 26 year marriage and loved/love them so much - we are actually known as being a bit dog-crazy because our dogs are the world to us!

This rescue completely mis-judged something during our adoption process with them. When I tried to help them understand what they (the top person) were misunderstanding she yelled at me, told me I was “unfit” and hung up on me and refused my calls. I got ahold of someone else who totally lied about why they were not going to let us have the dog.

Needless to say, we went to another rescue and got a dog who is 150% spoiled rotten and loving life with his new doggy siblings.

I won’t be wasting my time with this place ever again. They judge a book by the cover before they even read it. I’ve lived in my house with my wife for 8 years almost now. We were looking to adopt because one of the 3 dogs we already have lived out his life and passed. One of my other dogs Kona hasn’t been the same since so we figured let’s get a pup to livin her back up again. We went to their website found a pup we absolutely adored, filled out the application. Got a response asking for better and more pics of our back yard and we’re essentially denied, because our yard was too “rough looking”. They haven’t even bothered to get to know me as a person because they’d find out I treat my fur babies better than I treat myself. Sorry my yard isn’t perfect but the dogs I have already are loved and couldn’t be happier. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Like I said, they judge a book by its cover. We will be looking elsewhere. -10/5 stars.

My partner was a foster for this organization and like many others, had a HORRIBLE experience. She took down her review after they threatened to sue her for $2,500. But I never signed their BS contract, so I am posting a review.

We were rushed through the foster process and given a «submissive » dog to foster. His profile said he wouldn't do well in a home with a cat, when she brought that up to the coordinator, they backtracked and reassured her he would be fine, but didn't want us in the room when their trainer 'cat tested' him and then said he'd be fine. This ‘submissive’ foster has tried to attack 2 other dogs while on leash, went after our cat 3 times, and when we requested he be removed from our home, because it’s a serious SAFETY issue and because the dog is stressing our household out intensely (children and partner have been in tears) , their tone changed (they were so nice when we were going through the foster process, and as soon as we said the dog wasn't working out, it was like Mean Girl City) and they that it could take up to TWO WEEKS (if you adopt, and the dog doesn't work out it's up to 30 days and they make you pay a fee to return it) because they don’t have enough foster homes and their boarding facility is full (RED FLAG - they keep bringing in dogs yet they don't have places to put them) We don’t feel comfortable with the dog in our home, and they are acting like it’s on US to deal with it, not on THEM to take the dog back. They exceed the number of dogs they can care for, so they are always *desperate* for fosters and it looks like they try to come by fosters by any means necessary (including catfishing - the dog's previous foster was 'going out of town' and mysteriously couldn't take the dog back when they returned......?). Other rescues I've volunteered with would pick up a dog within 3 days MAX (usually within 24 hours) as they didn't want the dog in a home it wasn't a fit for (as it's a bad deal for the dog AND the foster/adopter). This one doesn't care - HUGE RED FLAG - they place priority on having the dog out of their boarding facility NOT on the actual welfare of the dog or the people caring for it.

The contract - see below - THE BIGGEST RED FLAG THERE IS - states they aren't responsible for any diseases the dog brings into the home, any injuries or death, or veterinary care that that they don't specifically approve (sounds like a way to stick fosters with vet bills). My partner specifically stated they weren't willing to care for a dog with any medical or skin issues - this dog clearly had a serious skin issue.

When my partner emailed and said we wanted the dog gone within 3 days or we would take it to Denver Dumb Friends League because our CHILD was in the path of the dog when he went after the cat and could've been seriously hurt, the president of the rescue sent a nasty email threatening to sue for ‘threatening the life of her dog’ (DDFL is a no kill shelter) and treated my partner as if they were an evil person for prioritizing the SAFETY OF OUR CHILD AND PET over her dog being in a boarding facility or shelter. If she’s so triggered by the dog going there, why wouldn't she just pick it up, like we requested her to do THREE TIMES…

I have fostered for other rescues before and this one is a sh*t show. Like, I am honestly shocked at how bad our experience was (read the reviews, it's a common experience. 0/5 stars, do not recommend. It almost seems like a Twilight Zone experience because 'Rescue People' simply aren't litigious bullies. Live and learn. AND there would probably be a lot more reviews, but part of their contract is that if you say anything bad about the rescue, they will sue you for $2,500 and make you pay for their lawyer. Seriously. How many people do you think had experiences where the dog brought into their home got someone sick or hurt someone, how many people did they stick with medical bills, how many people wrote bad reviews that THEY WROTE A CONTRACT WAIVING THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AND FOUND A WAY TO BULLY PEOPLE TO REMOVE REVIEWS THEY DON'T LIKE.

Please foster, please adopt, just not from this rescue. It would be hard to find a worse one.

The first red flag should have been when they want you to sign a legal document - any rescue that feels the need to try to bully you through the legal process is trash. AND THEY WILL. They give rescue a bad name.

EDIT: They WILL try to sue you if you write an honest review - PLEASE read the Foster Contract - you accept all responsibility for any injury (including DEATH) for the animal (if the animal hurts you or someone else, they claim it's your fault, if the animal is hurt under your care, like it attacks another dog and that dog hurts it, they will sue you), you are not allowed to say anything negative about the rescue - i.e., if you have a bad experience as a foster (which many have given they feel the need to turn negative reviews into cash by making you sign a contract (and no wonder, their president pays herself over $60k a year), they will try to bully you with lawyers (they make YOU pay for their lawyer and legal fees per the contract). WHEN YOU READ THE CONTRACT AND THINK, WELL, THIS SEEMS CRAZY BUT IT MUST BE A JUST IN CASE THING, IT IS NOT - THEY RELY ON THIS CONTRACT TO BULLY VOLUNTEERS INTO SUBMITTING TO THEIR WILL - IF YOU FOSTER AND CAN'T MAKE ONE ADOPTION EVENT, THEY THREATEN TO SUE. THIS CONTRACT IS MEANT TO HOLD ABSOLUTE POWER OVER VOLUNTEERS. THEY USE THIS CONTRACT TO TRY TO GET $2,500 FROM AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE.

SUING VOLUNTEERS IS A LEGITIMATE REVENUE STREAM FOR THEM - BEWARE!!!!!!!

I mirror many of the negative stories. We have raised two dogs from pup to adulthood. One that we put down after 15 years of a wonderful life with her and per our vet's recommendation for quality of life. The second, we did surrender as we were new parents at the time and he/she snapped at my toddler daughter. While I recognize this as "dog discipline" behavior, for a new mom to be witness to this is not something that any new mom I would suspect, would react differently. I could have easily not referenced this - having surrendered my fur friend after 5 years of being together with commentary of "The Board feels you took action too soon."

REALLY - so you must not be a parent that is in a relationship where your significant other advises "me or the dog." It was the right decision yet we were condemned for it.

Responded that they are keeping good dogs from viable families and judging families looking to adopt based on decisions that were made (in my situation) SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO!

Do agree...their fees and contract was/is ridiculous. I do not see this as caring as I have learned all their dogs are fostered at the expense absorption of the fostering homes.

Some lovely animals under their roof that if you look - have been out their for quite some time. Sad.

Maybe 2 Blondes need to lighten the reigns a bit and these lovely animals would be in homes by now.

Do no recommend. Other spots are better. Rez Dawgs, Dumb Friends (hate that name as a random thought!), Summit Dog Rescue, Farfels and many others I would recommend of 2 Blondes.

I could not disagree more with the negative reviews. I have adopted in the past 2 weeks from this organization and I feel that the fee was very reasonable. The little guy I adopted had cherry eye and the surgery to correct it was done at no cost to me before he came home with me. The adoption agreement is strict but let's think about all of the animals adopted during the pandemic that are now being surrendered or left behind when the family moves. There are reasons for the provisions of the contract and I think they are standing up for their animals. I don't mind notifying them of simple things like moving and if an animal gets away from its owner and is tracked down by the chip and 2 Blondes is contacted, at least you know someone will take care of the dog. I stand behind 2 Blondes and the rules they have in place. There are reasons for them and maybe you should be thinking more of the animal than you are thinking of yourself.

Although I’m sad, it’s comforting to know that I’m not being singled out. I put in an application and was immediately declined because I don’t own my own home. My husband and I are living with family to save for our first house. I lost my ESA a few months ago after bending over backwards to try to save him from congestive heart failure. My heart is so broken, so I was trying to adopt. My current home has a solid 6 foot privacy fence, other dogs to socialize with, and I work from home. I’m an excellent dog owner. I didn’t even hesitate to spend thousands on my last dogs hospitalization without question. I was denied and told to reapply after I move into my own home And have lived there 6 months. The restrictions are absurd. I pray that they don’t end up euthanizing animals who could have gone to loving homes.

This shelter is trash!!!!
They took a long time to respond and when they did, they used harsh responses.
We have a cat and we wanted to see if our cat and one of their dogs would get along but they claimed that because of « the dog’s current behavior » would not suit a cat! They hadn’t even tried with a cat and were bold enough to think that they new everything about that poor dog!!!!!
These people don’t care about the animals, they have 209 dogs currently at their shelter and the numbers aren’t going down!!!
They clearly don’t care if the dogs get adopted because they don’t even try to make it work (they probably end up euthanizing the dogs due to lack of space)!!!!!!
Bless those poor dogs looking for a home, that keep getting pushed back because of these stupid people that don’t try to help them!!!!
If I could leave a zero star rating, I would!!!!!
Please, don’t encourage them to keep trapping these dogs into their inescapable shelter!
Their are so many other rescues out there that actually care about their dogs!
2BRB won’t even let you call them (probably because they don’t want to use their time to help families and dogs get together)!!!!
Sorry for those who thought that they had found their perfect match at their shelter (we did) and that were pushed back by these stupid people!!!

Please, go adopt from rescues that are actually there for the animals!

Second time I have applied and they rejected both applications. No real reason and I tried reaching out to them because I really wanted the chance to meet one of the dogs, no response. I have a current rescue dog from the Colorado Puppy Rescue and how they deal with applicants is night and day from this place. I don't even know if 2BBR is a real rescue because I know several people who have tried to apply and adopt with no response.

I'll be reporting them to the BBB because if they really have their rescues' best interests at heart, then they would respond to applications. Horrible experience and much better rescues out there in Colorado!

Another recommendation to steer clear of these guys! They're rude and inflexible and told us our fence was "inadequate," though it has safely contained everyone from a 5-pound Yorkshire terrier to a retired racing greyhound. They were inflexible and unwilling to take a look at my "inadequate" fence. And did I mention how rude they were?

They said it was due to the chance I could deploy. While this is true, I can deploy, my partner not only lives with me but works remotely at the house. This of course was listed in the application
I wrote them back several times, no reply. I reapplied for the pet, they deleted the application.

We had our heart set on adopting from this organization. We were willing to fill out the necessary documents (that almost make you feel like you are adopting a child). We stated that we would leave the dog inside when at work/away. But for some reason we were disqualified because they thought we said we would be leaving the dog outside? Apparently this organization doesn't believe in letting dogs out to go to the restroom during mid work day? Adopter beware, they pay to make the dogs look good on their adoption page but who knows if they are real. We have a great home ready for an animal...I feel sorry for the one we have to leave in their hands. We will be looking elsewhere.

It's honestly really sad reading all of these reviews about this organization, and realizing how many dogs are likely not going to great homes because this organization is extremely unprofessional.

I quickly filled out an application online, hoping that I could get in contact with someone and start looking at dogs to adopt (we saw one in particular we really loved). We had some back and forth emails where I felt like they asked pretty personal questions. They put us in contact with a foster family and we got to meet the dog! After getting home from a really nice meet and greet with the puppy and foster mom I received an email that my application had been denied.

On my original application I said that I owned the home (though its my finances house) - I asked them if they could change my status to renter or put his name on the application. I also asked if they could provide me with a phone number so I could provide some feedback about the application process, and they denied my application. So they essentially denied my application, because they were upset with me (not because I am unfit to take care of a dog).

We adopted our dog 1 year ago from foothills. - and we joke all the time about what a wonderful life she has. We take her hiking in the summer, skiing in the winter (with booties) and my fiancé works from home multiple days out of the week and has a very flexible schedule. We both have our doctorates, good jobs, and most importantly really love and take care of our dog.

And I couldn't help but feel like I was being interrogated- and didn't deserve to be (trust me Im hard enough on myself at work, in relationships and friendships). I've honestly felt very hurt by this process and I'm upset to see the reviews of all of these people that have experienced these same things too.

I have had the worst experience I have ever had with this Rescue and it really makes me wonder if it should even be open.

They have pages and pages of dogs up for adoption, I have never seen a rescue with so many dogs. I filled out an application that took days and days to be responded to. Upon asking a couple of time just to know if the dog was available I received an email saying if you get over zealous or cannot wait for a response my application would be cancelled (not exact words but that is their meaning) , just to be told when it was accepted that they did not think me and my dog would be a good fit with the dog I so badly wanted.

Their description clearly stated gets along with People, Kids and Dogs. House trained, Leashed trained etc., just a perfect fit for me, but I was rejected because I have another male dog and they recommended I get a female.....WTH. They actually told me they had to much invested in this dog to place him with another male, invested??? It's us adopters that pay for their investments to have a good home! I have never owned a female and do not want a female. I have raised 12 dogs from puppies to there ending years, and now have a male rescue I am trying to find a companion for, all males and always having 2 or three at a time, 70lbs to 135 lbs and all breeds and they want to tell me no to get a female! They would not even give me a chance to meet him with my dog because the foster said two males should not be together - are you serious, I know more than that foster ever will.

Another horrible experience I had with them was a while back with another dog. They gave me permission to visit him at one of their kennels. This experience left me in tears. The kennel had so many dogs in it barking it was deafening, I could not even speak with the attendant. No windows, Stuffy, Hot and here they sit 24 hours every day. I really left with a feeling those dogs would be better off at rest. Even puppies laying there listening to this deafening sound and horrible surrounding. When I looked recently looked at their site for another dog I saw the dog I went to see is still on their list living in this horrendous condition every day. That poor, poor dog.

I wish I knew how to report this to whoever regulates rescues. They have just way to many dogs to really give each a respectable chance for adoption with their understaffing. Literally, pages and pages of them and they just throw most into these horrible kennel conditions because they are short on fosters and call them rescued? Its more like their damned. And then when they get a good adopter, which I have read on so many reviews they turn you down for some screwy reason without giving that dog a chance to see if it would work.

I for one will not ever go to that rescue again, they don't want to adopt out unless it is under their control and desire and do not even try a chance meet and greet to try out a potential adoption.

I wish I could give this rescue a zero. There’s a reason there are so many dogs in their rescue. Just as all the other reviews, don’t waste your time. They checked inaccurate property records and said I didn’t own my home when I was more than willing to furnish paperwork. I also gave them videos and pictures of my backyard showing I couldn’t have just snuck in a backyard. I have also been a veterinary nurse for 14 years and a dog really would’ve had an amazing life at my house. We go to the dog park weekly, weekly adventures, my dogs go everywhere with me and play ball three times a day. Do not adopt from these guys. There’s too many rescues out there that care about dogs.

They were extremely rude in their communication with us. We had to return a rescue we got from them and they held us EXACTLY to the 30 days and when we hadn’t heard from them we simply asked what the status was and we were rudely told and this is an exact quote from her email “ Please note that the surrender requirements were not satisfied until July 10th. As per the original email and my conversation with (Name Redacted)you were informed that it can take UP TO 30 DAYS after all requirements are met to find placement for (Dog). We are currently actively seeking foster placement for Dog. Once placement is secured (on or before the date) I will send you the details of the drop off, the surrender form, and the request for payment of the Return Pet Fee.” After several emails just asking for a status update. So rude. They are the worst communicators and I have heard are very litigious, so be careful so they don’t try to sue you (hence why i redacted names and dates…I don’t what them to try to come after me!) We had a great experience with Colorado Canine Rescue so I didn’t do my homework about this rescue. LESSON LEARNED. Do not adopt from them. These are mean and aggressive people. AVOID THIS RESUCE AT ALL COSTS. There are many beautiful rescues to use in Colorado instead of them.

I am hesitant to write anything negative about any non-profit which rescues animals. I have served (pre-Covid) as a volunteer for over 12 years for animal shelters. Rescuing and re-homing pets is a vitally important service which can never have enough good people. But I just had the strangest and most frustrating and humiliating experience with this rescue.

We found an adult dog on the 2blondesallbreeds website which seemed a good fit, so I submitted an app on July 14th.
On the 15th I got the auto-response email with acknowledgement of our app and all the disclaimers and stating that response times may be delayed, they are all-volunteer, etc., and also in bold caps that "THE RECEIPT OF ANY HOSTILE OR RUDE CORRESPONDENCE OR INTERCHANGE WITH ANY RESCUE VOLUNTEER (2BABR OR OTHERWISE) WILL RESULT IN THE IMMEDIATE DECLINATION OF ANY ADOPTION AT ANY STAGE DURING OUR PROCESS"
which now signals to me that I am not the first to have issues with this rescue. RED FLAG.
I was honest in stating that we currently rent, and received a response on the 17th that they are considering adoptions to rentals on "a case by case basis".
For the next week we went round and round, submitting lease information, landlord approval, personal referrals and basically "jumping through all the hoops". On July 21st they received definitive word by email from our landlord stating that we are permitted to have "2 dogs of up to 75 lbs each with no breed or age restrictions".
On July 22nd they emailed me stating that now Scooter's foster (the dog we had put the app on) had decided to adopt him. Sigh. They listed 2 other cat-friendly dogs and said they would get back to us with other options.
I never heard from back them.
Then I saw they were having an adoption event on July 31st at Petco Crestline. I immediately wondered why they hadn't notified us of this event, since they had our app and apparently approval as they had suggested a couple of (older) dogs. I emailed them on the 29th, asking about another dog listed and if we were invited (as their website stated you must be to attend).
They emailed me back that Scooter was now (once again) available because of a "change in the foster's work hours" (insert perplexed, scratching-head emoji) and stated that they were sending the app over to the foster when I replied that we would still be interested in meeting him.
I ASSUMED that, having my app and their suggestion of 3 different dogs and having emailed round and round with them for 2 weeks we were in their system and approved to adopt, having provided all requested information and landlord approval.
Uh, no.
We arrived at the adoption event and were asked for our "adoption approval letter" (?) I showed the girl all our numerous email correspondences and she let us in and we began viewing dogs. There were a LOT of dogs. Some of those dogs should NOT have been there as they were obviously triggered and did NOT show well as a result. There were also a LOT of people. I think this rescue has figured out how to create an atmosphere of chaos and competition, pitting potential adopter against potential adopter in something akin to the crazy housing market only with all the bidders together in one room.
We finally decided in on a puppy and when we saw another couple eyeing him we went over to complete the adoption process.
At that point we were pulled aside and told that "puppy applications are different than adult dog apps" and that our app "was for an adult dog". TWO WEEKS AFTER STARTING THIS WHOLE PROCESS and dozens of emails later, we watched the other couple walk out with "our" chosen dog.
UNBELIEVABLE.
THIS RESCUE IS HORRIBLE AT COMMUNICATION,
THEY DID NOT TELL US, IN 2 WEEKS OF CORRESPONDENCE, THAT WE WOULD NEED A "LETTER OF APPROVAL" to present at the adoption event (hell- we weren't even notified of the adoption event!!!) , or that PUPPIES ARE A SEPARATE APP FROM ADULT DOGS (what the heck is THAT all about!?!?). The front end greeter "let us in" after seeing the numerous email communications I had fielded, and yet somehow WHEN WE WENT TO ADOPT OUR DOG THEY HANDED HIM TO SOMEONE ELSE.
Pie on the face. That's how it feels. And all this after losing our last rescue dog of 12 years to a veterinary dental procedure back in June.
Also, my niece adopted a puppy from this group last November and paid less than $400. Now their "Puppy Price" is a cool $575. They are pushing the line between cost to buy a dog vs. rescue one.
I hope ALL their dogs get good homes, but we will absolutely NOT give them our business after this experience. There are too many other good options to rescue (like Lola's, PawsOnTheGround, Soul Dog and 4Paws4Life) to deal with these people again.
IF YOU DECIDE TO ADOPT THROUGH THEM MAKE SURE YOU GET THEIR VERY OFFICIAL EMAIL/LETTER OF APPROVAL TO ADOPT or you might end up disappointed and publicly humiliated. And good luck. The rescue scene is now a very competitive free-for-all. Glad for the pups that are rescued.

PLEASE READ BEFORE INTERACTING WITH THIS RESCUE
As you can see, there are a lot of negative reviews for this organization and there is a good reason why. I know a lot of the reviews are people who are frustrated that they were turned down for a dog but, trust me you were blessed. This organization completely preys on people. They get dogs and put them in really cute pictures and say all kinds of things on their website about helping dogs but, in reality they don't care about the dogs lives. They have some of the highest adoption fees I have ever seen and the worst contract.
There are a couple of posts that have referenced it and there are reasons why.
1. Their fee is non refundable.
2. The contract doesn't allow you to change the dogs micro chip into your name once you adopt the dog.
3. You must notify them if you lose the dog and then they can determine when they are contacted if you get the dog back or not.
4. You are required to tell them any time you move during the life span of the dog.
5. You are required to tell them within 72 hrs of the dog passing away.
6. If you can't keep the dog you are required to return it to them which, for the most part is the only part I could kind of understand.
If any of these clauses are violated they will immediately hit you with a letter from their attorney demanding either $2500 or $5000 and the dog and if you don't comply they will threaten court and more fees and penalties. On top of this they have ridiculous fees for credit cards disputes or bounced checks of I believe $2500. If you think about this they are holding you hostage for the life of the animal where you have to comply to their wishes or your at risk of losing your pet and paying a lot of money.
We forgot about all the clauses since its been awhile and the dog has been part of our family. We moved out of town and updated the chip since we were in a new town not thinking anything of it. Then out of no where we get a letter informing us we are in violation and we are required to pay $2500 and they are taking back the dog while threating legal action. Not once have they ever inquired about the health and wellbeing of the dog. They just troll for people to fall prey to their predatory contract. They are not in it for the animals what so ever, it is just an easy way for them to sucker people in. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE ADOPTING OR DONATING TO THEM.

My application was thrown into their 180 hold pile (I assume deleted) after being approved by Douglas County Rescue. Gave all my info showing I could provide a good home for one of their dogs. No luck. So I sent an email asking specifically for a dog who has a medical condition that has been on their site for some time with no adopters. He has a serious condition and I would love to have him as part of my home. Unfortunately, I never got even a two word response from them. I would think if they truly cared about these dogs, an effort would be made to find them a home. I seriously think covid is an excuse for their inadequacy and inconsideration.

Is ANYONE actually adopting a dog from here? I applied a month ago and only heard back one time asking for pictures of my fence. I own my home, have no children or other pets, my 1/2 acre yard is fully fenced in 6' privacy fence, and my husband and I are ready to adopt. The dog we originally were inquiring about was gone one day from their site, then back, then gone again. We have not heard a word from them since the email asking about our fence, yet they continue to add cute pictures of new dogs. I have a friend who adopted from them last year and had good experiences, but apparently things have changed. All we want is to rescue a dog!

I can't begin to guess what is going on behind the scenes of this group, but wonder about the other reviews questioning their motives, especially since they seem to have more dogs available than any other group in the front range area.

I just hate seeing new dogs show up on Petfinder with the super cute photos knowing they are from this group. My suggestion is to not get your hopes up and look elsewhere for your next pup. Unfortunately I do still get my hopes up because the dogs they have are among the type we are looking for. Maybe I'll get a reply from them for this review?

UPDATE: My husband and I were lucky enough to adopt the most perfect dog from Denver Dumb Friends League. They are very concerned about matching the best dog with the home. I went in to see one dog and they told me more about him and suggested a different one, based on our needs. We immediately fell in love and brought our perfect pup home just a few hours later. There is a reason DDFL has done so well - they deserve the respect they have earned, do an amazing job helping animals find homes, and they treat their adopters with the respect and caring that makes it the perfect connection. They take in strays, owner surrenders, and get dogs from a partner shelter in Oklahoma every week. My suggestion is even if you don't see what you might think is the perfect pet online, go anyway and you never know what you may go home with.

Stay away from 2 blondes. You are wasting your time, heartache, personal information, and potentially your money. I just wish there was a way to get back all the personal info I gave them on my "application".

Be prepared for disappointment.

- Website: has outdated information regarding which animals are available. You can fill out an application and get approved for nothing. Well, they probably sell your info.

- Compassion: minimal, at best and berating as worst. They would literally prefer to euthanize an animal before rehoming it. That should tell you a lot about their priorities. They post adorable pictures of animals, will prey on your emotions, and then psychologically destroy you all while trying to make themselves look like saints and somehow you're the "bad guy."

- Cost: For their fee of $525+ you can get a puppy that is microchipped, neutered/spayed, and vaccinated. The local animal shelter and vet will do all this for a fraction of the cost.

- Communication: mediocre. If you do or say anything they don't deem worthy of their time, you'll be blacklisted. We had been trying to make it work with them for two months, but enough is enough.

This agency has nothing more in mind than generating a tax write off for themselves while over charging for animals that they "rescue."
I wouldn't be surprised if their childhood ideal was Cruella de Vil.

Stay clear of this rescue!! I read the other comments and they are not exaggerating. I was going to foster for them and I had to cancel because my husband said "NO!" I was so apologetic and embarrassed, etc.. You know what they told me? "Well, because of YOU the mom and puppies are going to be destroyed!" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?? THEN! A friend of mine was fostering for them for a few months and she said they just dump dogs on her and expected too much from her. One dog they dumped on her BIT one of her young children (who was 3 years old!). She said it was totally unprovoked. The boy walked by the dog and he turned and bit him. She called 2 Blondes to tell them and she said the lady (don't remember which), said, "What did your son do to provoke the dog! Are you trying to get rid of him?! You CAN'T!" etc....etc... just BERATING her. She never asked a SINGLE TIME if her son was ok, or even offered to come get the dog. My friend had to call them NUMEROUS times, over 3-4 days to FINALLY get them to get the dog! She never fostered again. STAY CLEAR OF THESE NASTY WOMEN!

We volunteered with two blondes for months and months fostering more than ten dogs (some simultaneously)

Each interaction with them is absolutely impossible. They communicate poorly, expect you to bend to their every whim, and ultimately threatened to sue us for being unavailable to adopt a dog on a single morning.

They act as if they're saving dogs in an emergency, then they throw you under the bus, force you into uncomfortable situations, and will make you pay for countless expenses.

DO NOT under any circumstances adopt from this rescue, and whatever you do, do not volunteer or foster with them.

Honestly the worst dog rescue I have ever encountered. I don’t know if they are actually trying to harm dogs or if they are just inept but be warned, they are not interested in adopting to anyone. They literally are not accepting applications despite hundreds of dogs that they have that need homes and pleas on their social media to apply. They are currently being investigated by several agencies. Do not attempt to adopt from them. That’s awful to say because these dogs deserve homes but the only way to get these dogs homes is to shut this rescue down and move these dogs to a rescue that actually cares about dogs.

Our family, along with many others that wrote a review, have the perfect home for the dog we were wanting to adopt. We emailed the photos of our yard per the request and then no further follow up. When I inquired about Mickey aka George again I was told that he was not recommended in a family with kids. I double checked the website and there is a video of him IN A HOME with a kid younger than mine and the website says okay with kids. I emailed back and stated that Mickey's profile said he was okay in a home with kids and I recommended they do their due diligence before denying an application.

I received a response that said "We are doing our due diligence in trying to place our dogs in the best possible situation- especially after they have been adopted and returned.

Mickey will make a wonderful companion for the right family - and there are several considerations we make for every application we receive.

Interestingly enough, it seems that you are offended when we are trying to do the exact thing you are criticizing is(us) for."

I emailed back on the lack of customer service and how they failed to know our family history and did NOT do their due diligence with Mickey aka George. I instantly received an email saying
"Thank you for your insight into running a rescue. We are happy to take all of your suggestions under advisement.
Best of Luck,
2BABR''

Maybe if they read the reviews and did their due diligence they wouldn't have 6 pages of dogs needing homes. However, they do not care about the reviews or their reputation by their actions. The reviews and 4 complaints through the BBB say more than enough.

I’m not sure what is actually going on with this dog rescue but they clearly don’t have the best interests of these dogs in mind! They are absolutely abysmal with regards to communication and best practices for running a business! We have friends who foster for this organization and we submitted an application to adopt the dog they had currently under their care and it’s been a terrible experience all around. The application is quite involved, which is fine- these pups need a solid forever home, but the language right off the bat is very aggressive and in your face. We brushed that off, answered everything they wanted to know, submitted, and let our friends know we were all set and waiting on an answer. When we heard back, the organization said we were denied because we didn’t live within the metro areas listed on their website, no other reason. We clearly DO live within the metro area listed so we sent a professional, respectful email requesting a second look at our application as our home address is absolutely within the applicable area. We let our friends know what was going on as well and they attempted to contact the owner to get the issue cleared up. No response. To us or the foster family! We still have not received a response more than a week later and our friends have received multiple run-around answers that don’t make any sense, and they’ve only received any answer because they have been calling the owner everyday! What business treats their own volunteers this way, let alone potential clients? The lack of communication feels shady and makes us think something else is going on that the owners don’t want exposed. Would never recommend this organization and support our friends in finding a different organization to open their home and hearts to- too many dogs need good homes and this organization would be nothing without its volunteers. What a shame.

You have a choice when adopting shelter pups in Colorado - don’t feel like you need to work through this group, even with their charming photos. Like that book your third-grader has to read for class, the cover is fancy, but boy their inside is something they clearly don’t want exposed. Lawyers, fees, ridiculous provisions, terrible customer service and they’re just flat out rude, judgmental, holier-than-thou twits.

We have had 3 dogs and provided loving homes for them over the past 30 years. We were denied by these bimbos because we have a heated garage the dog can go in and out of. Our dogs were inside with us 90+ percent of the time, but the garage was available to them if we were not home and they wanted to be inside. It is a dumb thought that this is a negative for a dog to be warm and out of the elements.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE LOSERS! They will waste your time filling out applications and then make idiotic decisions on a whim, they did not bother to call any of our references or our Vet. Total losers!

Beware!! Adoption process includes a $5000 dollar damages and attorney fee clause for any breach of the 9 page contract along with a $2,500 fee for any credit card dispute or returned check. We filled out all information for the adoption process including 2 references and had an in home visit with our new dog, when we got the contract we were fine with all provisions minus the $7,500 in possible fees which we changed to a max of $769, $500 for damages and $269 for a credit card dispute or returned check ($269 was the cost of the adoption). When we sent the revised contract to 2Blondes Rescue we were only contacted after they put our dog back up for adoption and then refused our revisions.

Our 6 year old was devastated as she visited with the dog in our home and we all made the decision, as a family, to adopt her. If we would have known about the monetary damages clause we would not have initiated the adoption process in the first place.

Disappointing

We adopted our sweet Piper from 2 Blondes All Breed Rescue in 2017. She has been an amazing addition to our family and the adoption process could not have gone any better! Every member of the organization was professional, courteous, and truly wanted only what was in the best interest of our family. The process was quick and easy but we also felt their in-depth questions and thorough vetting process would not only ensure the health of the dog but also the proper fit of the dog for our family. I give 2 Blondes my highest recommendation!

2 Blondes All Breed Rescue is a joke they don’t care at all about the dogs all they care about is $$$$. You should definitely think twice before you “rescue” a dog from these people. What kind of dog rescue has an attorney on the payroll 24/7 if they are legit. Non that I know of.
