YWCA of Minot North Dakota
April 15, 2011
The YWCA was the first non-profit board I had served on besides my Church. The mission of the YWCA is so wonderful, "Empowering Women and Eliminating Racism" is such a good platform. The YWCA Minot helps so many women and children who otherwise would have no place to go. The Florence Anderson Center of Hope helps chronically homeless with shelter, food, training and a step up to get back to being a productive member of society.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
that I have seen the results of the support given to these women and children enabling them to have better lives.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I have always felt we need to have an endowment fund so at least our operating expenses would be taken care of and we could still write grants and get donations for the special people we care for. We have started an endowment fund and hopefully we will see that grow.
Volunteer & Served on the board for 6 years and also help with fundraising. I also help with providing toiletries to the women at the shelter, providing all kinds of household things I get donated from my members at my Curves club. .
