COMMUNITY WOMEN AGAINST HARDSHIP

I have been a volunteer for Community Women Against Hardship (CWAH) for over ten years. The fervor and zeal that the volunteers possess is undeniably contagious. It mirrors the commitment and passion of the Executive Director. I love this organization because of the work that is done for children and families in need. CWAH provides shelter, clothing, food, counseling and educational services. Every city should have a Community Women Against Hardship, an organization who really understands how our current economic situation has adversely affected all of us, especially children and families in need.

I have seen a client of CWAH move from living in the transitional housing sponsored by CWAH and move into her own housing, and now she is in the process of completing her final work for her doctorate. You see, some people just need a helping hand to get them out of the situations they are in so they can move on to accomplishing their dreams. We all must reach out to help others and CWAH provides me with that opportunity.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
CWAH needs additional full time employees to help with the mission of supporting families. I would hire at least three more fulltime persons to assist the executive director with the programs and activities of CWAH.
Volunteer & I volunteer for the JAZZ Brunch held twice a year to benefit the CWAH Jazz Institute. This institute provides music lessons for young people. The teachers for this Institute are outstanding musicians in the city. Their recital/concert at the end of the.
