The Butterfly Pavilion
March 8, 2011
I was a biology/life science teacher in the Jefferson County (Colorado) Public Schools for 33 years and so have had lots of experience with young people. In the Fall of 1997, the year that I retired from Jeffco, I began volunteering at the Butterfly Pavilion and have absolutely loved every minute of this experience. The entire staff is wonderful and the relationship between staff and volunteers cannot be any better than it is. The staff and the volunteers are constantly striving to make the experience for both adults and children at the Butterfly Pavilion one of highest quality. I highly recommend this facility as a Green Choice for people of all ages!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have personally experienced, and continue to experience, the goals and ideals of the Butterfly Pavilion every time that I look into the bright eyes, full of excitement, of people at the Water's Edge tidepools, in the Conservatory or in the Crawl - A - See - um where they are anxious to hold Rosie.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Expand the Rainforest Conservatory, using the plans that have already been developed. It is my wish that a corporation will make funds available to the Butterfly Pavilion so that a new and improved Rainforest Conservatory habitat for the butterflies can be built.
Volunteer & I was, and still am, a professional educator, as well as, a volunteer.
