Review for World Class-Ghana Inc, La Grangeville, NY, USA
During the summer of 1969, I traveled extensively in Africa with a group of students who had taken a course in African Studies and were witnessing first-hand some of what they had studied. The trip was illuminating in many ways, among them giving us a clear sense of the hardships in the lives of so many Africans, hardships that include, conspicuously, water availability and quality. When I learrned of World Class, I thought their mission admirable, but I was not certain that they would be able to sustain the commitment and drive necessary to have a chance to meet that mission. I needn't have worried: The founders have shown admirable resolve, and the organization has already made significant changes in the lives of many in Ghana, through wells built and planned, through low-cost loans to women, through training of local staff. I supported this organization initially to help it get off the ground; I support it now because I know that it is doing good work, and that it will continue to do so.
