I have been involved in NHCO as a volunteer since 2003. I have served as a Board Member, and worked on Board committees. This organization has helped so many individuals and families in need in the northern Allegheny County area. I am so proud to be a part of this organization. I work with the staff and other volunteers. I have seen first hand how this organization works and how our clients are taken care of in a compassionate way. I have Co-chaired a fundraiser for the last five years and was able to raise funds that were directed to help with rental and utility assistance, caregiving for seniors and adults with physical disabilities, employment, food panty and more. Because we have strong Board members, a dynamic Exercutive Director and dedicated staff, NHCO is an organization that promotes a lot of good will in the community.

As a volunteer I've received , "The Compassion in Action Award", The Jefferson Award for Public Service, and the $Energy Award. I have worked with homeless people and immigrants and helped them move their families into affordable housing. I have personally helped individuals and families with housing, utilities, clothing and food. Families have come back to the organization to say "thank you" for all the help.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would work harder to get the word out about the good work NHCO has done and where we want to go in the future.
MY ROLE:
Volunteer & I volunteer four days a week to help staff with rental and utility assistance and co-chaired annual fundraiser.
