Review for Hill Country Animal League SPCA Inc, Boerne, TX, USA
Please read my review under Hill Country Animal League Foundation. I inadvertently posted there but my review was for the League's operating organization that oversees the spay/neuterclinic and Rummage store. The HCAL Foundation is set up to insure that Hill Country Animal League will exist in perpetuity, but, as such, it is a paper entity.

Review for Hill Country Animal League Foundation, Boerne, TX, USA
Hill Country Animal League (HCAL) in Boerne, Texas, has made such a positive difference in our community by providing low cost spay/neuter services and a pet adoption program to aid homeless pets. HCAL has also been very active in educating the public concerning humane treatment of animals and proper pet care. HCAL has been helping people and pets for nearly 25 years through the operation of the HCAL Rummage Store where all net proceeds go toward the spay/neuter operation at the HCAL clinic. Last year over 6500 pets received services. Our volunteers include many middle school and high school students, several of which come back year after year and summers when they go off to college. Last year HCAL got its first FaceBook page and our younger volunteers and employees keep the organization fresh and up to date. HCAL wants to grow its facilities and be able to help even more people and pets. So this year we are expanding our Board and gearing up for a fund raising campaign. What makes HCAL special is the people that make it work every day. The dedicated employees, veterinarians and volunteers are focused on humane treatment of animals. They always go the extra mile with a smile! HCAL's mission is even more important during this time of a struggling economy and military deployments. Pets are often left behind or abandoned when families lose their homes. The area that HCAL serves has also been hard hit by deployment of military and national guard personnel who are faced with leaving their pets behind. HCAL helps re-home these pets and/or provides support in the way of pet food or pet services for people experiencing hard times.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
....increasing the number of spay/neuters performed at the HCAL spay/neuter clinic. .......increasing the number of pets adopted to loving homes that would have otherwise been euthanized at local pounds. .....increase publicity about all the good things HCAL does for the community.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
.....increase the number of volunteers and foster homes so that more pets could be saved. .....increase the size of the membership and the Board. ....attract more Board members with skill sets that can benefit the organization.
