Review for Middleburg Humane Foundation, Marshall, VA, USA
I have volunteered at Middleburg Humane for almost 2 years, going 2-3 times a week. Small miracles happen there all the time! For example I have seen starving horses saved from being tied up at the side of a road with no access to water much less food , brought to this farm and fed and socialized and then adopted to forever homes. Dogs who cowered in the back of their cages when they were first brought in who gradually became friendly and happy. Every aspect of an animals' needs is considered, food and water of couse, but exercise, toy play, outings to town and socialization with children , if appropriate. All animals are given medical attention by experienced staff, they're brought in at night and given soft blankets to lie on and treats.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
By seeing happy people matched up with their forever pets, large and small. By seeing people who keep their dogs chained up outside get food, education about pet care and medical help for their animals if they need it. And my thoughts about particular dogs have been considered even though I 'm just a volunteer.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Get them more room to continue to grow and make a difference in the community. They just don't wait for people to come to them but they are out in the community, advertising the animal at adoption events and social gatherings. But the demand by the public for more help is growing and Middleburg Humane needs more space to do their great work.
