Review for Whosoever Ministries Inc, Columbia, SC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This organization helped to save my life by connecting me with safe GLBT Christians. I came out in the context of a fundamentalist Christian background and was treated like a criminal. My writings and reading others helped to bring necessary healing. I have also finished a book called, "The Rude Awakening" that I hope to get published soon so that others in the GLBT and allied community will have some sense of how some Christians respond to people who affirm non-heterosexuality. This organization helped me to return home to my faith and love for Jesus Christ and helped me to see how expansive the Love of God truly is. I also feel more equipped to respond to the rhetoric and fear of the Fundamentalists now and am able to pray for the very people who wounded me in my past.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

saving me from severe depression as well as helping me to reconcile my faith and sexual orientation.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Have conferences.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Contributing poems and reading others stories.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Warm, receptive, and genuine.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Help save more GLBT Christians from commiting suicide.

Ways to make it better...

There were conferences to attend to meet others as opposed to an online prescence only.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Finances.

One thing I'd also say is that...

It is important to be aware of what programs like Love Won Out are doing to people.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2007
