The Metropolitan Wind Symphony (MWS) is quite simply the best band I've ever heard. I have attended their concerts for more than 25 years and have rarely been disappointed. The caliber of the musicianship and the program selections are consistently good but somehow still seem to improve every year. The current conductor, Lewis Buckley, is excellent. He brings a high level of knowledge and great enthusiasm to every concert. I particularly enjoy his pre-concert talks which are always informative and typically alert us to some special nuance in one of the pieces to be performed.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
enjoying scores of wonderful band concerts.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
expand their outdoor season to more venues.
