I volunteer at an ACS Cancer Resource Center in Bend Oregon. The folks at Breast Friends have generously shared the materials and hats from their vast amount of resources with us. It is such a wonderful opportunity to give a woman with breast cancer some very pertinent information, a tip sheet for the caregiver, and the uplifting hat which always puts a smile on the faces of everyone in the infusion room.
Thank you Breast Friends for being there for the women of Central Oregon.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The results of the Hat/Resources program that I/we share with patients has been very positive. The list of ideas for loved ones and caregivers if very valuable in helping the woman with breast cancer know what to ask other to help her do, as well as giving a very positive role for the caregiver. The hats are delightful and help women see some humor in all the distress around them.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Volunteer & Shared the Breast Friends Hats/Resources program with our other volunteers so they can identify those with breast cancer and share the materials with patients. I also give out and share the materials at any opportunity.
