As a founding board member who experienced the worst of NIMBYism in upper NW Washington, I have seen CCH/FP grow in respect and become admired by the community at large. Our homeless neighbors who were living in our local parks, playgrounds and bus terminals, deserve the services just where they are, without leaving their comfort level. This has been happening more and more over the years and the business community, which feared and rejected CCH/FP, now realizes what an asset the organization has become.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
seeing how we have effected change in our neighbors' lives.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
love to see CCH/FP serving homeless families. The need is great and perhaps that will be the next mission. Veterans' families are in desparate need of help.
MY ROLE:
Board Member & I have done many jobs over the years, from riding in the van to serve coffee and sandwiches, to organizing underwear distibution. I currently serve on the program committee.
