Axis Dance Company
October 10, 2010
I joined the Board for AXIS in 2010 after volunteering my time as a marketing graphic designer for two years, creating brochures and other promotional materials for AXIS's Open Season shows. If I was intrigued by AXIS as a volunteer, I was utterly blown away by their masterful performance when I saw first saw them live. If you haven’t had an opportunity to catch one of their electric performances, you must see them: prepare to be transported by their artistry and athleticism. You won't be disappointed.
AXIS also offers some pretty terrific community education programs for adults and children, "enrich[ing] communities by providing education on dance and disability regardless of social economic or physical differences."
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Experiencing for myself and seeing the awe on the faces of my school-aged kids seeing AXIS perform.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Allow more people to know about them and support them.
Board Member & I designed marketing materials for Dance Access/KIDS! and later, AXIS's Open Season performances, and then joined the Board.
