My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Sarsef: S. Az Research, Science & Engineering Foundation (Scientek-12), Tucson, AZ, USA
The SciEnTek-12 foundation is the non-profit that runs the Southern Arizona Regional Science and Engineering Fair every year for children all over the southern part of the state. I participated in the fairs for ten years, and the amount of guidance and support that SciEnTek-12 had to offer is what directly lead to my career as a scientist today. I value what they did for me so much that I come back as a volunteer each year at the fair and try to help raise money for this fantastic cause when I can.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The amount of opportunities that it gave me as a participant. As a result of completing a project and competing, SciEnTek-12 sent me to compete at the International level five times, resulting in over $50,000 worth of scholarship money for college.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Extremely friendly and supportive. Volunteers take a very personal interest in the participants, and are extremely nurturing from year to year. Further, they are excellent at getting kids excited about science.
