LISTEN FOUNDATION INC

The members of the board and those volunteering for the foundation are wonderful people to work with. They are skilled a passionate about helping children with hearing loss meet their communication expectations. Children with hearing loss in Colorado couldn't ask for a better advocacy group. It's the only foundation in our area that assists families in helping their children learn to listen and produce natural spoken language.

As an audiologist I've seen personally the children who graduate from this program vs. those who parents chose a different road. "Listen" parents work very hard initially but their children are more independent in the long run.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would give them a larger voice. Currently the population of kids who need assistance isn't large there are so many more families who need advocacy and education. I would give them a larger voice so they could reach more families.

I've been involved with the foundation for over 5 years. It is the only one of it's kind in our region and imperative for families of hearing impaired children. It's goal is to fund families who can not afford therapy to teach their child to use what hearing they have to maximize their spoken language and listening skills. It's amazing what they can accomplish in 5 years! Imagine 5 years of work for a lifetime of independence.......

Watching children graduate from the program is so rewarding. It's exciting to hear parents tell their stories of how their children are succeeding!!!!

Reach more children and have them be fully funded (100% of the time). They could also educate the public on their mission.
