Review for Affordable Housing Clearinghouse, Lake Forest, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As a founding board member of the Clearinghouse and as the former executive director of a 35 year nonprofit housing organization, I find that the board and staff of the Affordable Housing Clearinghouse to be well-regarded and well informed on all issues regarding housing and to be extremely ethical and transparent in their management of this nonprofit. It provides great innovation and value to lower income families seeking affordable rental and purchase opportunities.

Review for Helping Our People In Elsinore Inc, Lake Elsinore, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

We just dropped off some groceries this morning and witnessed a wonderful event of volunteers (students, Rotarians, etc) helping carry groceries to people's cars which were stretched out several blocks from the distribution center. This volunteer led and run food bank is just exactly the charity you've been looking for to donate funds.

Review for Neighborhood Housing Services Of Orange County Inc, Orange, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Our housing nonprofit has had a relationship with NHS from its inception in 1977 as Jim Yacenda, NHS Executive Director in 1977 was involved in the formation of our nonprofit. NHSOC has been instrumental in many of our renters and employees becoming homeowners. They have exceptional tools and knowledge. We just completed a successful collaboration in the development of single family homes in Santa Ana that now house low income first time homeowners who were assisted by NHSOC. They are an extremely valuable resource to our Orange County community.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

As a collaborator on several projects; most recently as a participant in the Home Again Consortium and the NSP.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find a stable source of income to create more first time homeowners.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

It's "can do" attitude and willingness to assist.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Glenn Hayes, Letty Plasencia, Yvette Jamarillo, Ken Mutter, Ron Rohrer

Ways to make it better...

We could have found more projects for collaboration.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

finding homes affordable to their many prequalified buyers
