Review for Beacon Of Hope Center For Women Inc, Indianapolis, IN, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I met the director, Terry Moore about a year and a half ago. I was driven by her passion to some day soon open a womens shelter on the westside of Indianapolis. Unfortunately the need is great for this service. The volunteers are friendly and driven by strong values to help others. I want to be part of this project from the "ground up". Helping domestic violence victims start over with emotional, financial and training affects all of us. I have been thrilled to see the westside community come together with donations to help this shelter become a reality soon!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Through domestic violence calls, I hear that victims are able to escape bad situations. They have the security and support to leave this environment. Pet Fostering Project will be crucial in many cases. I am proud of this organization .

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand the pet fostering program and start a building project for the center as soon as possible.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I enjoy the passion and excitement of the director and people involved in working to create a westside shelter in Indianapolis.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Friendly, passionate, driven with good, strong morals.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Build a westside shelter, have a pet fostering program "on site" and help train women in life skills and counsel them.

Ways to make it better...

There were places to put their animals when they attempt to leave a violent environment.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

To achieve funding and property to build this much needed facility.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I have been a volunteer for one year and a half, help with fundraising events, answering phones and sorting clothes. I am happy to contribute my time and strengths to this organization.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  Volunteer & I have been helping with fundraising events, answering phones and sort clothes.
