Benton-Franklin Co Humane Society, Inc.
May 29, 2010
A year after my wife started helping BFHS show adoptable pets, I joined her. When they were forced by the economic down-side of converting to no-kill to give up a large, expensive shelter, we both stuck with BFHS while they found and purchased a smaller facility. BFHS is a very dedicated organization and has maintained it's no-kill policy despite the reduced revenue. We found our Akita-Chow mix, Kopi, at BFHS and have helped while some 8000+ cats and dogs have found new homes over the 12 years since we got involved.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Finding our wonderful dog, Kopi. Watching families take their new members home. Helping me make my name in this community.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the appreciation shown to me by the management and staff and my Board colleagues for the work I do.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
dedicated and animal-smart. The staff is wonderful (not paid much, but still wonderful.)
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
solve about half the unwanted pet problems in this community.
When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
Board Member & Webmaster, long-term Board member, chaired and volunteered for annual fundraisers, provided management coaching for the Operations Manager and some staff.
