The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
many ways. I have given and felt love from many creatures. I have felt the trust of hurt, wounded, and sick animals and have trusted several with my own life. I hand-fed and medicated an elderly tiger in the last months of his life giving him massages to keep his legs a little stronger. I have hand-fed and medicated an elderly, wounded lion for the last eleven months of his life. These experiences change you. Trusting and being trusted by these amazing animals is unbelievably life-altering.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
not change their organization. I would, however, love to organize unlimited funding for Valley of the Kings. They truly deserve it.

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?
It would help us if we could improve our fundraising efforts, attract corporate sponsors and improve our ability to attract members.
Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
My daughter and I volunteer regularly together. This experience was a great way for us to stay connected and gave us a bond. We started volunteering when she was 14. We have worked well together and bonded at a time when most mother/daughters spend very little time together.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
There are no words to express how satisfied and amazed I am every time I visit my friends (two- and four-legged) at VOTK. Sometimes at the end of the day I will just brush down a horse or donkey or two or three and we just relax together. VOTK is a very healing place for humans and animals alike.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the eyes of the animals living there, the volunteers I work with, and the visitors who come to experience the roars. There are no words to express how blessed I am to be able to spend time here--VOTK heals me like nothing else on Earth.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
do just what the owners do--make every penny count and continue to seek donations from every avenue available.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
getting to know the animals and their very unique personalities. I have seen a large male tiger take a leg of meat to his pen mate who wouldn't leave her house before he fed himself. These fascinating animals amaze me on every visit.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
friendly, caring, giving, helpful, and self-less. These are the kinds of people that make America a better place.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
expand the amount of land which would allow them to save more animals and allow for larger pens. It would also allow for state-of-the-art equipment--no more carrying buckets of water in winter when hoses freeze.
Ways to make it better...
money and donations were limitless.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
funding.
One thing I'd also say is that...
these animals are in a much better place. Many were taken from abusive homes or from people that were not prepared to care for a wild animal. These animals are loved and cherished for the rest of their days.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About every week
