My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Northern Jaguar Project, Tucson, AZ, USA
NJP has made all the difference in our collaboration to protect jaguars. My job involves networking with several other US non-profits and I can honestly say that NJP is unique in making such a huge contribution in resources, expertise and passion with such a small group of mostly volunteers. Jaguars in Northern Mexico will always be grateful for the support these committed and capable folks have sent this way. In 2008 our Reserva del Jaguar del Norte more than tripled its size thanks to NJP. Keeping up one of the longest-running jaguar monitoring efforts in the area has only been possible because of them. Their support to community related projects and openness to support so decidedly in an area that has been overlooked by major conservation groups, are just examples of their commitment. A BIG THANKS to everybody in NJP for helping my country protect its biodiversity.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
that they have always been about protecting jaguars in Mexico, no strings-attached, no other agenda and no compromise.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Energetic, experienced, committed and willing to teach and learn. Like all relationships we've had ups and downs but they have never let the project down or acted selfishly.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Save the northernmost breeding population of jaguars in the world.
Ways to make it better...
small issues, and trust issues had been dealt with more flexibly
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
maintaining jaguar hype in the long-run
One thing I'd also say is that...
they need a small office
