The California Veterans Assistance Foundation's cutting edge programs are the foundation for ending veteran homelessness in Kern County. They operate over 15 programs providing services anywhere from transitional housing, permanent housing, dental care, employment and training, homeless prevention and rapid rehousing services, food baskets, sponsoring the Kern County Stand Down to participating in local strategies like Home First and the Point in Time Count. CVAF staff truly cares about the veterans being served and go above and beyond to ensure veterans can get the best services available to them.

I worked for VAF for 12.5 years and know first hand the capabilities the management and staff have working with homeless veterans. The housing and supportive services provided makes VAF one of the best programs in the country.

the opportunity I received to learn, grow and advance in my professional life. I truly believe in the mission of VAF and look forward to its future.

Former staff & I started as the office manager and progressed to Executive Director. I was transferred to the California operations in 2009.
