My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Center For Southern Folklore, Memphis, TN, USA
As a Board Member for the past 6 years, I've been a volunteer in one of the last, great FREE festivals, The Memphis Music & Heritage Festival, which includes a myriad of musical genres from the many cultures that make up the Mid-South, as well as indignenous crafts, "outsider art", pottery, textiles and wonderfully cool creature comforts that are strictly Southern in nature. This magical place is a natural haven for tourists, musicians, locals and folks looking for an authentic place to hang out.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the Center's dedication to all kinds of art forms that could be lost in a High-tech society.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
always helpful and engaged.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Remain a link between the artist-musician-craftsman and the outside world.
Ways to make it better...
I had been able to share it with more people...if more people knew about the incredible work that the Center is doing to help preserve Southern Culture.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Keeping the festival FREE!
One thing I'd also say is that...
Judy Peiser should be cloned for all arts orgaizations!
